  • next 3 games

we need to win our next 3 games imo, forget everything that's happened so far this season, it's time to aim up and perform or fade away like the eels of 2010. Our performance against the dragons was good (reminded me of our game against tigers), despite what many believe, it was our best defensive performance, but our attack just lacked that spark, that final little bit of class that carney would usually provide. But if we can defend like we did against the dragons against the titans, sharks and knights we can pick up 6 points easily. Combine that with our bye and we'll be back up in the top half of the ladder.

The next 3 games are crucial, even though people are still using the "it's still early" excuse, i reckon it's now or never, 3 winnable games and we have to win them! After that we've got the cowboys, warriors and storm, all tough games, so we need to make use of these opportunities. But then again all throughout this year, we have failed to show up in games that we should win (eagles, dogs and warriors). It's crunch time, i don't think we can make a late run like we did last year, or atleast not as well as we did last year, because our draw is tougher (we have the dogs, dragons and storm in our last 5 or 6 weeks). In the end the usual cut-off for the top 8 is 28 points, so considering we have 2 byes, we can consider ourselves on 8 points already, so when it comes down to it we need to win 10 games minimum to make the finals. So that's 10 from our remaining 17 games, which isn't gonna be easy but i reckon it's more than possible of we can defend well.

Games we should win: round 8 titans, round 10 sharks, round 11 knights, round 16 knights, round 17 raiders, round 18 panthers, round 19 rabbits, round 20 tigers, round 22 sea eagles, round 24 sharks, round 25 eels

so either we just scrape in or we just miss out, i don't see us finishing at the bottom of the ladder like many have suggested.

But it begins with the titans game, if we don't win that well then, i dunno...i just don't know....

To be Mossopesque, the team who scores the most points in a game wins. It doesn't matter a goat's vaginal discharge if you defend well.

Yeh but with carney out our attack is crap (10 points against dragons, 6 points against broncos, 12 points against warriors etc.) so we have to start focussing on defending our way to wins, we're not the roosters of 2010 anymore, unfortunately we can't play the whole "whatever you score, we'll score more" type of play anymore.

Obviously we'll need to attack well also, but defence is the key to winning in this current era of rugby league, we saw it last year with the dragons, and before that the storm and broncos- all good defensive sides who have been very successful. If you defend well, it lays the platform to be able to attack aggressively.
