There have been constant rumours about the futures of Maloney, SKD and Tupou; the most recent of which was The Mole stating that the raiders are throwing big bucks at Skiddsy. If they all happen to leave, I expect to see a side similar to this next season:

    1. Mitchell
    2. McDonald
    3. Jennings
    4. Ferguson
    5, Burgess
    6. Hastings
    7. Pearce
    8.JWH
    9. friend
    10. moa
    11. Cordner
    12. Aubo
    13. Guerra

    14. Napa
    15. Liu
    16. Evans
    17. SST

    Still a good side imo.

So let's say that SKD, Maloney and Tupou all leave. Add that to the recent departures of SBW, Casty and FPN and the impeding departures of RTS, and we have roughly 1.5-2mill sitting around. With this money, I put the following scenarios forward. Do we:

    a) Place that money strictly towards retention and only purchase for the future/for current depth
    b) Does RTS do a backflip and stay?
    c) Will we make a few big name signings, such as Folau and SBW?
    d) A combination of all of the above
    e) Another option not mentioned?

It is going to be an interesting few seasons to follow!!

I can't see Mitchell in the Number 1. Maybe wing for a few games.
I think fullback will end up being Fergo, Omar or even buying another short term option (eg. Michael Gordon).
I'm a bit worried about whether SoH will stay especially if we keep BBQ. I find it strange that he isn't playing for Wyong after playing NRL and for Newtown last year.
Surely there is a big signing if we don't resign two out of Toups, SKD and BBQ and losing RTS. I doubt we would let that much cap go to waste.
I still think that is a side that will compete for the premiership.

        e) Spend the money on retaining Maloney, if he takes a two year deal.

We need faster and more mobile forwards who are strong and robust due to upcoming changes with substitutions - gone is the smith era of Polynesian packs

We need a player like SBW or the ilk of Corey Parker whom are excellent at getting the offload and creating the second phase play which is soooo sorely lacking at the moment.

              100% Artie.
Aubbo Cords and Guerra are not off loaders.
JWH tries, but is rubbish at it(as seen against the Broncs)
Moa has a good soft hands
Apparently Liu has an offload but I think he left it in the lower grades, probably at Henson Park some where becaus I have seen no evidence of it or him even attempting it
Nappa doesn't look like an offloaded
SST looks like he'd rather run over people then offload.
Big Kane is the ideal height for offloading. We really lack second phas play

I'd say there's plenty going on behind the scenes.

The Warriors will also be feeling quite anxious about RTS reneging.

I really wanted us to sign Kevin Proctor.

I think my bro' SST has it in his game to develop an offload as does Evans. It's a shame Guerra doesn't really posess one.

He's locked in with the Tigers end 2017.

We do need a big slab of meat though.

SOS the problem is does the coach want the structures he has developed as a strategy disrupted by the indiscriminate scramble that follows an off load.

Personally , I crave to see our current crop exploit the off load .

I once suggested to a current squad member to try it and he said if he did he would be able to use it the week after in Reggie's.

Obviously I took it at face value and surmised that only the chosen few are allowed to play off the cuff.

I still think that's a side that will be in the finals for the next 5 years and still competing for top 4. Depending on who we let go and resign, I think this year is our best chance in the next 3 years probably (barring a star signing). However I still think will be between 3-6 in the next two years and then once Evans, Napa, Mitchell etc turn into stars we'll be premiership heavyweights again.
In saying that, just because that team is a bit worse than the past 3 years, I see no reason why it couldn't win a premiership if it gels well because our team at the moment is far better than any other side on paper so it will just bring us back to the pack a little bit
