This season would have had a different outlook had Carney and Watts been fully fit ( and sober) and available from day 1.

Our forwards have , at the very worst, moatched other packs and given us a reasonable platform to work with. It's the lack of variety and speed around the halves that have cost us dearly. We had become too predictable in attack, especially inside the oposition 20, and unless teams make a bad read in defense, or miss a tackle, we are held out with ease.

A bit of adjustment to our attacking structure, and a forward that can offload in traffic ( FPN used to do it) will have our season back on track, and we'll make the playoffs in 6th or 7th position.

So far we have been beaten by some very good football teams..

I have only been disappointed in the team when we played Manly and New Zealand..

The Bulldogs, Brisbane and St.George are all very good football teams who deserved to beat us on each given day...

More often than not a teams success revolves around a standout playmaker. The broncos have lockyer, and in the past the roosters relied on fittler and Newc on Johns. Our success when freddy was out was about 30% and without Johns Newcastle were a shadow of themselves . And so it goes, without Carney our attack has lost its finesse...Pearce without Carney is like Laurel without Hardy ! Half the pairing becomes non functional. Everything goes back to Pearce making a play and its all too easy for the opposition to bottle up one playmaker. Sadly we dont have another playmaker making a dent in the opposition. Im sure Smithys plans revolved around the Carney /Pearce combo!!

Why do we not have a fwd who get away a pass under pressure.
Bring fletch back into the fold to show them how.
Bring Dean Pay back to show them what defense is all about.
We need them to learn to pass when they are wrapped up.
Morley didnt do it because Sticky wouldnt let him.
          Go Easts.

              Cleary is certainly no muppet.

He was held in high regard at the Roosters.

The Warriors need to be coached by one of their own.

You lost me with that garbage about being a league fan first and then a rooster.

That should put you in the minority here - big time.

I dont give a fuuck about rugby league generally.

                That takes care or itself.

It is roosters first and daylight second for me.

I'm the same so I guess I'm part of the minority. I've supported the Roosters all my life, but I love rugby league in general and am a league supporter first and foremost. If the Roosters were booted from the comp I would still follow the game. I couldn't bare not being able to watch the game. Yes I would be mightily pissed off but I love the game first and foremost.

Personally I'm a RUGBY LEAGUE fan first before being a Roosters fan. I don't want us to lose, but winning isn't everything. Of course I want us to win the GF!!! Who doesn't? But to me most of the fun is watching us fight every week and watching. A number of things interest me, including but not limited to:
                          - Our tactics (and how they grow over time)
                          - The lives of our players (ups and downs)
                          - Watching our emotions/attitudes.
                          - Our luck.
                          - Analysis of micro-aspects by professionals (and forum members.)

IMO with footy the journey is more important than the destination. I don't just want us to win every game!!! Sure, I welcome that, but winning every week would be BORING. For me having challenges and uncertainty is VERY important.

Seriously, what's wrong with that, and why am I getting so much flack about it? Of course the ultimate goal is to win the GF every year, but the big trophy moments are nothing without good, honest work in between. Sure it's professional sport, but a lot of loyalty and club spirit still exist. I'd hate to see us win a GF if it meant for example dropping half our team + sacking Smith for Bennett. I believe our boys have the goods (unlike many it seems.) I'm farking sick of the Mini bashing for one!!!! He was on fire against the Dragons and did enough to prove he's still got the goods to any doubters...

I'm not claiming I'm farking Gus Gould or whatever, but to those saying "you're not serious" or "you have no idea..."
Whatever... I do know my $hit when it comes to footy!!! Been a fan my whole life, played for 20+ years and have been through a lot with the Roosters. Hell I'm no Sterlo or Gus or whatever the fark, but who else is?!?!?!?

If you're gonna dis my opinions then fark off coz I seriously don't care what you think. I know my $hit and that's why winning isn't everything. Not bagging those who just go out there to watch the wins and wanna drop Smithy/Mini for Bennett/Boyd... but get farked and eat your humble pie when after dissing all our players every time we lose, when some of those guys show some passion and start showing form!!

I look forward to the end of the season when all these guys saying:
                          - "ooooh we're gonna get the spoon"
                          - "We ahould sack Mini, Carney, Anasta, Pearce, Perrett, Myles, SKD, FPN, JWH + play the Jets instead, coached by Wayne Bennett"
                          - "Smith should be sacked coz we've only won 2 outta 7 games and cqn't beat the Dragons + Broncos..."

All fark off into their little corners coz we make the finals with Smith as our coach and our boys do us proud without being replaced by the entire Storm/Broncos/Dragons squads (or the Newtown Jets for that matter.)
That's a minute I'll never get back again.

As long as there is a comp every year fk loig fk loig players and fk the NRL all I care about is the Roosters, their players and fans our team and hopefully lots of wins.
