  • Hastings to Penrith

Apparently Hastings unhappy and will be at Penrith next year. Perhaps some truth to the article two weeks ago regarding a player in cup with attitude problems.

Hoping some swap is arranged regarding George Jennings. Halves depth is a worry now though.

It was just on Triple M.

They basically said that if we re-sign Jimmy, Hastings will more than likely ask for an early release.

I'm sure if we release him, we would be in the market for another half, not an outside back though.

            He wont get a run
            they have too many already
Gould pissed off Blake Austin, Lachlan Coote & both are doing well at other clubs
            Wallace & Grommit
are backed by Isaac John , Api Koroisau
            Panthers are going backwards fast......
they cant buy their way out of trouble

Penrith have a glut of outside backs. Korisau and Isaac John aren't up to first grade. Korisau is at hooker but seggy is an 80 minute player.

He hasn't proven himself as a first grade player yet, at least not in robbo's eyes.

I've seen a lot of halves get impatient and move too early to get a crack at fg only to play a few games and then go missing. A few years ago it was Jacob Miller. Most halves spend time in NSW cup as a kid and then once they prove themselves, they get a shot. If Hastings stays with us and proves himself in the 20s and Wyong this year, there is every chance he will play fg soon. If he gets too edgy and makes the move, he may rush himself into fg only to end up being shopped around and then forgotten.

HE has done sweet F.A really. He will get a start when he commands it. At the moment he just ain't quite at first grade level imo.

Also comes off as a self-serving twat

On Twitter he seems like his loving life with the chooks. He is unproven & still needs to develop. Imo if jimmy stays beyond this year, I'd give him a regular bench spot and groom him into our long term five eighth.

Assuming it's true, the fact is he needs to earn a spot. If he doesn't want to put in the effort he can leave.
