He did that against the Sharks I think when hes going to the left inside the 20 and smashes Jennings or Toups with a bullet pass. I think Jennings will ask to change to the right next week.

Have you thought that's what he intended to do but Jennings was out of position and got in the way?

          Time to re-sign Maloney immediately.
          Not doing so is 'lunacy'.

Bold call but don't be surprised if the club cut Pearce free and keep Maloney and Hastings.

Anyone noticed how Friends has had the captaincy duties two weeks in a row now?

Pearce was in the best form of his career at the end of last season.Hes very average at the start of this one.Whats changed?Being the captain of a NR L club puts added responsibility's and stress on a player. Some handle it and some don't.I wonder if it might be affecting his game?

To be fair I think Maloney was actually trying to get that to Toups but Jennings was coming so quick he was right in the way. If the pass is good to either of them it's a try though.

Hastings has looked quite good to me in the games of NYC I've seen this season. Mind you they've both been floggings. He's good an excellent long ball and controls the team extremely well for his years.

Also while I'm on 20s. I think Latrell Mitchell will be ready to play first grade next season. I tend to think he'll play fullback straight away as well. He's only 17 and already stronger than most of the NYC opponents he's faced. His effortlessness is something to behold. A sign of most gifted players is when they can receive a long pass while changing direction and upon reception change hands to fend automatically. Mitchell scored a try exactly like this against the Dragons on the weekend off a Hastings ball. The defender had no chance whatsoever. Then he brushed through another for good measure to score under the posts. Certainly something special. Just quietly his brother has it too. He's just 20kg heavier.

Can't really read into it but Maloney has been picked for country (paired with Mullen.) Keary/Reynolds for city... no sign of Pearce and Hodkinson.

Is this a possible hint that either Pearce or Hodkinson have already been selected for NSW, with the rest of the halves battling it for a spot? Guessing you can't really read into it that much (if at all), but interesting none the less.

You and I both know we could have Thurston. But thanks to that coach of Canberra (note that I use the same vitriol as if I were discussing a pedophile) we went with Finch and had coaches who thought he was a halfback. Now we have Pearce, who coaches think is a halfback.

Jennings timed his run too late and got in the way There is no way that was meant for Jennings If Jennings times his run properly it goes out the back and Tupou has onl to catch it then ground it and we win the game.

On Mitchell I agree with you he will be ready ad play fullback next season I actually think he is that type of player that if you threw him in this year he would not be out of place, to me he seems to go along with the game I have no doubt if it was harder and fast er he would rise to it Just on his freakishly gifted talents did you see him take that ball down near his ankles late in the game with one hand and in almost the exact same moment put it in the other hand so he could change direction and run I saw it on the tv waitng for a beer it looked so effortless but it is so hard to do

Whilst I agree with the captaincy bit wasn't PearceOrf in charge alone the first 5 rounds with a 3 from 5 win ratio???

Then when Friendly returns we lose 3 straight???

Not blaming Friendly at all, just think its too early to tell if its affecting PearceOrfs game or not.

IMO hes started the season solidly, like the team.
