What a ridiculous thread. Doesn't deserve any more comment.

No John, there is nothing ridiculous about it. We can't only blame the players for what they do. The buck has to stop somewhere and dumb play week in week out goes unpunished. Is it BCs fault? POS, Politis fault? Is it fitzys fault? The players go out ther to do what they're told so unless they're not doing that then Trent has lost the team... I don't think it's that but it's just that his ways don't work without a star/marquee player. Even though Sonny didn't have a good 2014 with the ball, his off the ball play was also a great asset.

Timmy Sheens or Trent Barrett for next year? Or does Finchy come into calculations?

Maybe it's too soon to say. If we scrape into the eight, that might save Robinson. Might.

I think Trent needs to change with the times.
We need to give less penalties away. We don't have the same D as before.
We need our players to "lay" down for penalties.

Yeah well possibly... Souths and Canterbury got to the GF last year using that tactic.

It's like Melbourne and their wrestling tackles. People hated them, but now it's common practice to get a wrestling coach in and use wrestling tactics.

Penalties... how can we not only milk more, but put the refs in a position where they HAVE to call penalties? IMO making a situation look like your opposition are in the wrong is a skill. It's not gonna help walking up to a guy who has just (legally) been flattened, telling him to get up off the ground and then telling the ref he's wrong. The call has already been made!

Last play... Pearce was intentionally held back so was unable to chase his kick. I don't think he woulda scored, but he was denied the opportunity. IMO he needed to make it look a LOT more obvious that they were in his way/holding him back. If he'd done this properly then we would have been awarded a free kick I reckon.

I said it in the off season, we're going to struggle this year without any real game breakers.

Fergo was the great white (black) hope. With him injured, I reckon we'll do well to come 8th.

Even on last year's lacklustre performance, Sonny was a massive part of the team.

I was just wondering how the A & E's coped last night.
imagine lots of sutures to be removed in a few days.

We can't even pass and catch the ball without stuffing up every set.
Back to basics the coach should be going.
First thing he should be doing is dropping the FB...ambling along v the Dragons instead of hurrying to get the ball...Dragons scored...game over.

That first penalty we got from JWH, he milked it and it worked. He made out like he couldn't get up and struggled...PENALTY to us! Is that wrong when every other team is doing it? Some people are stuck in the Menzies era and feel we shouldn't resort to unethical tactics. As if the pollies don't do unethical.

V the Dragons...6 minutes into the game we got a penalty, a gift two points [and get possession back]...we should've taken the kick at goal...2 nil to the Roosters, the ball kept away from the Dragons, but no, we didn't.
                          We lost the match.

We got a penalty...hoorah...then on the first tackle Evans coughed up the ball and killed all our momentum.

Our winger outside Jennings was stuffing around and too slow to pick up the ball...we lost possession again.

We might've scored a try...but Jennings dropped the ball....Pearce did a backwards flip/dive onto the ground in frustration behind the play...he couldn't believe it.

                          Yes...another 'Allianz' weather/Roosters mistake a thon...debacle.

Barking up the wrong tree as usual ....

We'd all be singing his praises had Guerra & Fergo (& Maubs) been healthy

Losing those 2 it's fair to say with the past 3 games being close it could have easily been 3 wins.

                            A REALITY CHECK PLEASE !!

our roster has copped a blow not to mention the unavailability of those 2 idiots Kennedy & Meehan

You wanna winge? Go crap on those 2 for a start & run some errands for Guerra &
                            Fergo after that

Have a go at the coach if he's losing while having the full roster at hand.

                              Bingo.

He was crucial. Firstly as a peerless defender and secondly just his presence gave others confidence, not to mention space because teams were so focused on shutting him down.

He's a much bigger loss than Sam Burgess who, as great as he is, was a middle third forward and his loss didn't affect Souffs' attacking structure. But SBW is the greatest ball playing forward since Artie so his absence has affected the entire team.

My concern is his recruitment and finding young talent. In three years he has signed terrible depth and brought hardly any juniors through into starting side. He has only resigned existing players at a hefty value I would imagine. The other top coaches sign average players and get the best results from them and have a stack of top young talent bursting into their top squad.
