    So yes bullshit, absolute bullshit.
If majority had that passion you talk about, then it would transcend into club loyalty and passion. I have not seen that since players like, menzies, hindmarsh, ricketson furner, ET and others played the game.

I don't see sport the same as i did years ago, $$ is the driving force behind players and administrators of sport these days, if fans were of a main concern, then they would try to entice you to more games, but if the game was played in front empty stadiums, the game wouldn't care because the money is supplemented by television rights and advertising.

I still enjoy going to games, and i believe players should earn what they are entitled too, but i don't think loyalty and passion are high on the list anymore.

I don't disagree that there's a lot less loyalty & passion at club level than there was a decade or two ago but that's because locals aren't playing for their local club anymore, the club they grew up supporting and dreaming of playing for, the club your family and friends support and have a history in. You name; Ricketson, Menzies, ET & Furner. These are guys that were born and bred and got the opportunity to play for their local side. I don't believe loyalty & passion is dead but it's certainly not as prevalent as it was in past eras and it's not something that youngsters come to the club with, it's generally something that's developed.

That's not applicable to SOO though and it's why SOO is so successful & continues to grow to the number one sporting event in the country whilst all other domestic comps stagnate or decline. Kids who dreamed of playing for their state get to realise that dream and the loyalty and passion is there to see physically. Sure there's the possibility that a player who is available to play for different nations/states chooses to play for Queensland or NSW because it's where they can make the most money but it's a very, very minor issue because so few actually do it. The large majortiy and I'm talking 99% chose who they feel loyal to and are passionate about.

The pacific island series on Saturday was an awesome display of passion and loyalty. I can't remember who it was but someone made the great point about Sam Kasiano's last minute awesome effort to win the game is something you'd never see him do in a Bulldogs jersey.

Yep loved watching the Pacific islanders play. I think super league were on the right track with NZ in an origin type arena, but i think it origin should keep its mantle as the premier stand alone event. Would love to see a four nations type event played involving Australia, NZ, England and a combined Pacific island team (fiji, samoa, tonga, PNG), they may struggle to find some decent halves combos, but gee they would be entertaining.

looks likely the nrl/nein will look at including the kiwis into ori9in. probably the first team in the nrl they played for will govern which state you play for

              ......

Amazing how much better we looked with a little more stability on that right edge. Not only does it give Pearce a strong edge to play too but it gives us threats on both sides of the field when it'd been so obvious that our left edge was our only real threat over the past month which allowed teams to stack numbers.

The only question now is whether Nene comes back in when fit or if Aubo holds his spot in the centres.
