  • Making the Top 4 is looking really difficult...

I know we're only approaching the halfway mark of the season, but making the all important top 4 is looking like an increasingly difficult task. That insipid 4 game losing streak may really hurt us.

The Cowboys keep on pulling wins out of their arse. And at 9-3 along with the Broncos, and the refs on their dicks, those two are looking pretty solid. The Storm are looking very clinical too. The Dragons don't strike me as a team likely to collapse any time soon either. And now the Rabbits are suddenly 7-5 on the back of an easy draw despite playing shit.

Monday Night is must win imo. We can't drop to 5-6 and allow the top 4 to skip 3-4 wins ahead of us.

So two questions: Do you reckon we'l make the top 4? And can we win it outside the 4?

Although we're lagging behind the likes of Brisbane and the Dragons, I still think we're way ahead of them at our best and are the standout team in the comp ESPECIALLY with a fully fit and mother****in' lethal Blake Ferguson at centre. Still, I think top 4 is a must.

If we lose to Melbourne, we will struggle to make the 4, especially when we play NZ with no origin players, i dont see a win there.

When you look at teams that have made a GF from outside the four such as dogs and warriors in the past, i think we could give it a much better shot.

Hey we came 6th and made the GF in 2010. We're a much more complete team now, but still... I think the real challenge is that if you don't make the 4, you've gotta play more games so you have less fuel in the tank.

Last year, for example, the Cowboys had to beat a couple of teams... then us... Souffs if they'd won... and then another team that had made the GF.

Meh finals footy... a team ranked 5-8 will eventually win. If we beat the Storm then we're a win away from the top 4. Warriors will be a tough contest, but they're essentially a team of back rowers who ram their way forward. Gets physically tiring, but I think most teams in the comp have the mental edge on them.

There's still a long way to go!

        Top 4 is achievable.

If we're good enough we'll get there. Before this round, just four points off the top of the table with games against Dragons and Broncos to come.

Obviously - for insurance - top 4 is the goal, but, interestingly, it's possible that finishing 5 or 6 can be better than finishing 3 or 4. First week of finals you could beat up an inferior team at home and then the week after face a team that's been beaten up by a top two team. Manly was probably the second best team in 2013, but if Carney had been playing they would have been knocked out in the second week of the finals by Cronulla.

Geez the nrl have set us up nicely there the f**kwits!! Couldn't believe that when I first had a look at the draw, along with us having to play NQ first round in the heat of Townsville. The nrl sure do know how to f**k us over!!

The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

            Here's looking at you, kid.

We have our 2 byes prior to state of origin and have and 2 of our games after origin are on a Monday night, which gives our origin players a bit more time to recover. We also flogged the Cowboys in round 1. I would hardly say we've been screwed over in this instance.

inlike other teams i feel we can win it from the top 8 not just the top 4! once we get on a roll we tend to gather support in the press too that gives us ref support as well?

If we beat Melbourne we are two off the Top 4. We will make it. Put your house on it.

The question is whether we will make the Top 2.
