I'll be really interested to see if Smithy axes the dead weights and where we go frm there. The message needs to be loud & clear, names, reps dont mean anything, your place in the 17 depends on your performance. On that basis, eveybody knows where they stand. But Smithy needs to be running the team without any interference.

I don't see us finishing anywhere near the bottom of the table.
Wish I had your confidence, but then that would only set me up for more disappointment

We have the slowest, least potent backline in the comp.

We have little or no creativity in the forwards

If our forwards aim up, we can hang in during games, as the last 2 weeks have shown

      But that's all

      Our attack is a farce

We are way too reliant on Carney

William Zillman has made more breaks at the Titans in 2 weeks than Anasta has in 5 years

Over 10m - 20m, Pearce is the slowest 1/2 in the comp

We're a genuine chance of running last

The problem with sacking coaches is that you are continually getting someone to coach players that the previous coach signed. Different styles require different players.

The last person in charge long enough to build the team he wanted was Phil Gould.

Smith knew the club he was taking on was a basket case when he took over. I suspect that was why he wanted 4 years. So he had enough time to take the team in the direction he wanted.

We over acheived massively last year and a lot of the credit has to go to Smith.

Its frustrating watching at the moment, but regardless of opinions, one thing is sure - Smith knows more about the game and the team than anyone on this forum.

The club has put its faith in Smith for 4 years - now they have to give him the reigns for those 4 years and let him control the destiny of the club in that time.

And look how long our success lasted with him. Smith was at Parra for ages and they made the final virtually every year with a not particularly good side. Same with Bennett at the Broncos. You could name plenty of coaches in the same boat.

            Hasler with Manly.

Bellamy now with a Storm team that's really nothing special.

Neil Henry was persisted with despite turning in some really dire seasons because they had faith in his ability.

That may be, but at Parra Smith ruled recruitment and retention. At every club he's be able to sack players. Let Smith be Smith and then judge him. This new Brian Smith needs a good dose of the old Brian Smith.

              Chook.

Totally agree. I pretty much said in another thread that coaches at the Roosters are never given full control. Very much to our own detriment. Gould had it but he earnt it over time. And even then I don't know that it was full control.

                  You make some excellent points

In regards your last one however, Politis is utterly incapable of getting the fark out the way and allowing those he employs to do their jobs, as he has demonstrated over so many years

He is a cancer that must be cut out

Vote him off the board next time there are elections

But Given that the football club is run as a closed shop with only yes men spiv mates of Politis allowed, it will be tough, if not impossible

Someone on the wall 2 or 3 years back physically tried to become a voting member of the football club, and the run around they were given was incredible

                      I might make some enquiries

Lol his spiv mates, you've got no clue.

The majority of the board are all highly regarded businesses men who have achieved far more than you, I or anyone on this forum will most likely ever achieve.

Well, Mark McGuiness has more sexual harassment complaints than I do.

Highly regarded businessmen have caused more **** ups in this world than you or I have had baked dinners.. It does not mean they are beyond question.. Remember the GFC, that was caused by highly regarded businessman.. Do you know what each of these highly regarded businessman contribute to the club? Why do they make it so difficult to become a voting member. Maybe they are doing a fine job, who knows but to think they are beyond question is burying your head in the sand.
