You're missing the point - it doesn't matter so much as to who replaces Politis, the main thing is that whoever that person is stays out of football operations and lets people like Smith, Noyce and co do their jobs.

That is the job of a board and its chairman - to oversee the financial position of the organisation. Not to be involved in day to day decisions like who we sign or don't sign

The re-signing of Anasta and Mini were major blunders. I'm certain it was Nick's decision. Sentiment got the better of him.

Why is it nonsense? Nick has a history of making poor recruitment and retention decisions. It's obvious to me Smith is playing the hand he was delt = Anasta in the side and captain. Anasta's form is his way of telling Smith "fark you". Anasta is on the media bandwagon to life after footy, he's on the Politis gravy train, life is good, so why he should beat himself up for us?
