I think Nick has a better idea even though he isn't following the game as much as he did! He is usually in Greece vacationing and is still running the club. It is the upper management that is screwing up! They are making the wrong decisions and that is why we are 2 wins from 8. I hope Nick puts his foot down soon and then the team can move forward.

Do we need the boss vacationing when important decisions need to be made?

Because let's face it, he is the boss.

Management are lieutenants in this army.

Seems plausible to me. Smith obviously didn't want Anasta and wasn't going to extend him past 2011 which is why Braith cried wolf to the press at the start of this year. Politis probably overuled Smith thinking it would get us out of the papers and not disrupt the season. And so Anasta knows he is protected from on high and so it doesn't matter how he plays - ie he doesn't give a fark.

Unless you got a better explanation on why Anasata is so completely shit this year?

          Chook.

That's true, but the rag this morning says we will honour the deal. Hopefully the club grows a spine and tells him to piss off.

                a much better one

he's been going downhill ever since his very early days at the dogs, and every year, as he gets slower and slower, he gets more and more shit

on that basis, he'll be even more shit next year than he is this year

Can't wait for next year's version then.

As for Politis, he has done some amazing things for the club. The Easts Group have put the club in a position of great financial strength.

But, when it comes to the football operations, this must be left to the experts in this field.

How do you tell somebody that has poured so much money and emotion into the club for so many years to step back?

                  Not an easy task.

How do you think Nick felt when we won the spoon? Embarrassed? Humiliated? Disgusted? Terrible? Depressed?

Tell him, if he doesnt want to feel that again....step away. Yes he's the CEO with the Rooster tat on his forearm. he should protect that arm, and keep an arms length from the heat.

It's easier than you think...point out the results column.

Yes Nick has saved this club and we should all be thankful for that. But it's not enough to save it only to see it continually fail due to incompotent interference.

Nick needs to realise he is just a supporter like the rest of us. We can show passion but have fark all say in the running of the football club.

                      Chook.

Fair points, and a good question

I guess people could speak to him about succession plans and the like - he's not going to be around forever. It'd probably mean his yes men spiv board mates would have show some backbone. But if they love the club as much as they claim they do, they should be able to do that

What worries me, and I believe you'd know what you're talking about when you say the club is in a strong financial position, is when people like Gould keep saying "If he leaves, the Roosters would go broke"

If that's true, and Politis has, in all this time, not created a situation whereby the club can survive without his money, then his failings run a whole lot deeper than just getting involved in recruitment and showing how poor a judge of a footballer he is

I can't understand why Gould would say that.

He knows better than most what financial position the club is in.

Comments like that are a slap in the face to the successful businessmen that are currently on the board.

I get the feeling that one of Nick's greatest contributions to the club will come with the Narellan sports development, it's a developing area & Group 6 has largely been untouched for a few years now neither St George nor Wests have really claimed it as far as I know...

What is with the spiv comments?

The board members are successful guys in their own right.

The rugby league world is as warped as A Thurston sideline conversion
