Funnily enough, merely 3 hours ago I had a great chat with Kevin Hastings at the gym. One thing of interest that he mentioned was that Jackson kicks at (as high as) 90% for long periods. He's a great goal kicker when he's practicing, apparently.

Disappointing. I thought Hastings couldve done a job at fullback until Latrell was ready but that was only possible if Maloney stuck around. Now Hastings is the obvious option to partner Pearcey and we'll either have to take on an oldie like Stewart, a project player like Locke or show some incredible faith in Latrell Mitchell.

None of which fill me with as much confidence as Maloney sticking around for another season or two.

I would happily take Stewart on board for a couple of seasons and give us time to groom Mitchell. We did a great job with Mini tutoring RTS, what better player then Stewart to do the same for Mitchell

Irrespective of Maloney's performance,Hastings showed he can handle First Grade on last weeks effort..
Maloney is a great player,but I think it is the right time to move on

I actually liked the pairing of Maloney at 5/8 and Hastings at 1/2 last week, there was no panic plays, would have liked to see a bit more of this combo.

Disappointing to lose a character and player like jimmy but I can understand his reasons for moving on and can also understand the chooks not wanting to give him a 3 year deal esp at a premium rate. I wish him all the best, he is a class act.

It was either keep jimmy or lose hastings. And given one is 19 and one is 29 the club has obviously looked to the future and taken youth over experience.

Lets just hope that hastings repays the faith the club has put in him.

Next year might be difficult, but gee there's some quality players off-contract at the end of 2016 such as Klemmer, Wighton, Milford, Jack Bird, Folau, SBW, and potentially even Hayne.

Klemmer, Wighton, Bird... aren't exactly Folau and SBW.
