Im hearing from a very reliable source thats its Todd Carney we are chasing as jimmys replacement and that with robbo having previously coached at the catalans dragons a new deal is very close to being done , for me there has been alot of talk about young jackson hastings being jimmys replacement , dont beileive a word of it , does the word jamie soward come to mind the kid cant tackle and especially last week we all saw his reads and misses on our right edge which put enormous pressure on fergo and skd , I would be absolutley stoked if this comes to fruition alot of fans forget that todds dramas started as a result of losing his father at a very young age and in reality his offences have been pretty minor compared to some players still running around , there is our goal kicker and still for mine one of the top 3 halves going around make it happen roosters please

Worse defender than jimmy, injuries and off field drama rule his career now, chooks have already had two arrests this year, we don't want more in the future.

there may be soe truth to it. trent saved todds as and secured the catalans job for him after the water fountain. like you said trent was involved with the catalans . took them from the cellar to top 4 i think. They still hold him high regard.Todd could be a good quick fix for a year or so, but do we need the shit press and have rothwit watching him every night trying to get sneaky pics and share his hate for easts thru the press again. Then we continue to use hastings like we did maubs, morts. jakes interchange and halves injury replacement. i would put toups at fullback compared to using hastings.

But yeah, I have a bit of a soft spot for Carney. IMO aside from his rampage in Goulbourn he hasn't done a lot of bad things. He hasn't bashed up women, hurt anybody or anything along those lines. Essentially we sacked him because he got like a 0.051 DUI the morning after drinking (he wouldn't have felt drunk or hung over) and went out drinking with FPN during Braith's blanket ban on drinking. There's no suggestion that they ran amok or hurt anybody.

Sharks... sacked him because some guy took a photo of him playing a harmless boys prank in the bathroom. He's now appealed the sacking and is ready to go.

IMO Todd Carney is not the bane of modern society. He's a talented young man who I'd gladly offer a second chance at Bondi.

And that was my exact thinking as well , the culture at the club has changed from 2010 there is alot more responsibility placed on this playing group now obviously jenko has made a mistake but if we can turn fergo around then we can do the same with todd and its a win win for jackson to progress at a good time with his trade coming off the bench and with his defence he would be inside his best mate boyd for me its the perfect fit

Do you make this stuff up?Go and look at the stats before you post bull shyte,Maloney is a turnstile,thats not to say he isn't a good player & the last time I looked Jamie Soward had premiership to his name and Carney was his opposite.Last week Horrie jnr made 22 tackles,2 missed& 0 penalties to Maloneys 11 tackles,1 missed & 2 penalties conceeded.Penalties conceeded are far worse than missed tackles! That was against one of the biggest packs in the NRL!If you keep writing bull shyte, you should change your name to Hans Christian Anderson.

Carney is past his best years and has struggled since 2010, I would be shocked if he was signed. He and Fergo would be a deadly combination off the field in the local bars and clubs. A big no.

Always injured? His ribs are injured due to an illegal tackle. Never knew him to be injury prone? Injury prone would suggest things like recurring ACL injuries and stuff... not bad luck on field.

I would hate to see him back at our club. He is nothing like the player he was. He is a dope. and yes...he IS injury prone. Hamstrings, groin etc from years of abusing his body with alcohol and not recovering professionally.

To the contrary i heard it directly out of a current 1st graders mouth and if you ask any of our current squad who they would rather have at number 6 for 2016 i can guarentee that its todd carney 1st and daylight 2nd just because jacksons old man was a legend dosent mean hes gona be only those who have won priemierships are worthy club legends the rest are yesterdays men just a number
