He just doesn't seem to play what is in front of him. The hospital pass to Fergo is a perfect example. He simply should not have thrown it but he had decided he would before he even got the ball.
The best footballers (especially halves) can adapt to the situation immediately. He doesn't seem to be able to do so.
Pearce plays without vision. There's not too many tricks in his bag to show. I think he only has 3-4 options in his repertoire and that's it.He's defense is always up there i guess.
we won and our halfback stuffed up a few times. Must have done something right a few times as well.
interesting that the prodigal never got on last night.
LOL Rusty is just jealous cos Smitzell Pearceorf is better looking than Jaaaaaamie.
Its funny isn't it, we won a game without our starting props and strike centre against the best defense this season, but all I have read is whinge whinge farking whinge.
On our own clubs forum.
When you look at it fairly Pearceorf had an undercooked Fergo outside him who struggled to hit the line with any speed or cohesion, defended very well though, that right hand side all did.
There is a thread about Fergo but no one has thought to look at both players as part of that right side.
I am looking forward to Hastings getting the starting spot next season. I give it a month before he takes Pearceorf and SKiDs and Mini and Toops crown as the blame for all the worlds woes.
It is guaranteed.
BTW what a tough grinding win 2 weeks straight, undermanned.
Just what we all wanted to see, the team play tough.
Sorry we didn't score 8 tries and keep them to nil. We were shit.
And SKiDDsy continues to embaress his detractor and create history, I bet his old man is proud as punch.
The Pearce pass looks bad , but Fergo would have been calling for it , if the ball comes quicker he draws and passes to Aubo ? and we are 50m downfield. Bad luck , bad execution, bad play , but they got on with it after that.
Pearce has developed a good short grubber , I don't think he tried any last night ?
Give him a break , he'll played alright , good bomb nearly got us a try when SKD caught one and passed to Fergo.
It was a good win.
Considering how well our forwards played Pearce was unable to capitalise on it - he look a tired player last night and does not have timing or the ability to think quickly.
I can't believe there are so many people who don't see what the plan is behind the 50m spiral bomb to the corner. With the 7 tackle sets on dead ball restarts now its dangerous to try and put the ball in goal and try to pin the attacker. It can also get the opposition set off on the right foot if we try the long low kick to the corner and it doesn't find space. Those types of kicks generally mean that the attacking team pick up an easy 10-20m before the defenders can reach them. The spiralling kicks to the corners mean the player has to wait and then catch the ball (in Farrell's case last night he didn't even manage that) giving the defence time to chase hard and pin the catcher the moment he gets hold of the ball. In effect, the attacking team ends up with a 5 tackle set against a set defensive line because they have had to burn a tackle catching the ball. It is a percentage play designed to enable our defence to restrict their go forward and hopefully have them kicking from 40m out from their own line

Pearce is poo poo
always has been poo poo
and will continue to be poo poo
The difference between Pearce and Hastings
Hastings has been forced to bide his time, form and ability will dictate when he gets his shot.
Pearce was gifted a 1st grade position, had his competition for his spot eliminated by the powers that be, thus ruining the blokes chances of reaching his full potential.
That is why he is no good under pressure and cannot think for himself
I am sure in the next 2 or 3 weeks all will be forgiven when he has a blinder and becomes the chosen one once again.
Wish i failed as many times under pressured and was promoted for my efforts.
I am a greater fan of Harold pearce and the park they built

Brilliantly said. Someone with some common sense.... Pearce's hospital pass to Fergo was bad but I think he realised it as well.

That's true. We were doing it in 2013 (which I think was before the seven tackles) but the rest is true. It's a tactic I love.
On Pearce (and Maloney) I would say we had a lot of ball in good position without many points flowing. Our attack is definitely below par but it will only take a couple of great attacking games to bring it back. My money is on that starting next Sunday. I will be disappointed if we don't lap the Coast.
