He needs to get back to training and playing footy to get right.
Meetings with AA, psychologists and a heap of other beaurocrats will lead anyone to drink.
Footy is pretty much his life and his escape from all the other sh!t.
Plus he needs the right people around him all the time.

So what happens when his career ends? Or do we just discard people in the rugby league "family".

Went past them training the other afternoon...

        Linnett was front and centre.

Maybe you didn't understand. He needs to be playing footy to get back on track. Playing footy is good for him. Look how good he was last year. He had his footy and the right people around him. He needs to learn from the mistakes he made on holidays last year and when he was on tour. If people around him drink then he needs to learn to say No. He needs to learn that he can't call on idiots like Watts and go on a late night bender. Being away from footy for an extended period will not teach him that. Boredom will get to him. Footy needs to be mixed in with whatever therapy he requires.

After footy, hopefully he would have learned the right things that will lead him in the right path.
His problem can go on for years so him sitting out the year may do absolutely nothing. In the end, the Roosters can't be around him for the next 50 years. They should do all they can for him but it is mainly up to the individual to learn what is good and bad in his life.

That's because you believe he is an alcoholic.

He made an error in judgement in stepping into a car with a low-range alcohol level. He was not involved in any altercations, not found passed out in a gutter, or anything else untoward. The guy is guilty of being lonely and wanting to hang out with his mates. I can't see how isolating him from his job and his mates for an extended period of time is going to help the situation.

Hasn't he admitted he has a problem with alcohol?

Footy comes second as far as I'm concerned.

Footy comradery should be part of his therapy. As dice said, loneliness is part of the problem.

How much of this has to do with us struggling on the field?

The whole thing is a publicity stunt to appease clueless fools.

Matthew White gets caught with a high-range alcohol level which is a criminal offense (rather than a misdemeanor for low-range) and is allowed to play the following week. The same clueless fools even came out to congratulate the Titans management for the way it was handled.

I notice you were one of the fools. Clearly you have no idea that a low-range drink driving offense is always considered a misdemeanor with no prison sentence even for repeat offenders. High-range drink driving is considered a criminal offense and carries up to 18 months prison for first time offenders, and up to 2 years for repeat offenders. Yet you get on your clueless high horse saying that Carney shouldn't play for the rest of the year, and White should be allowed to play because he has no priors. NFI.

Of course I want him back on the field when he is 100% injury free.

And I also think him not playing footy and training is part of the problem.

                          It's a win:win.

                              Smith should make these changes.

                              1. Mini
                              2. SKD
                              3. J. Carney
                              4. B.J.
                              5. Linnett
                              6. T. Carney
                              7. Pearce.
                              8. JWH
                              9. Friend
                              10. FPN
                              11. Maubs
                              12. Symonds
                              13. Myles

                              14. Tasi

He was running with the main backline when I had a geeze.

Although it was a big squad.
