  • Any tips on best place to park in Gosford?

I'm heading up Sunday morning for the game. It will be my last game for a while as I head overseas for a month in early July. Haven't travelled up there for a few years now and thought I'd check with others as to where they generally park. In the past, I recall that I parked at or near the train station at Gosford. I'd prefer a spot where I can get onto the main drag back to Sydney quickly and easily after the match.

    Any tips/suggestions would be appreciated.

    Cheers

Just have to get there and try your luck I guess. I think getting out and on your way home is not too much an issue. Especially if you stay a little longer and watch some of the Wyong game.

Stay out of the parking station and try and park up the main street towards the train station. An easy walk out as opposed to the lengthy queues out of the parking station after the game.

I have never had any problems with parking, plenty around the joint, get there a bit early, even to watch our u20s play at 11.45, gates open at 11.30. I love this stadium just a beauty both playing on and appearance

Park at Central in the morning and get the train. Seriously, Gosford is a black hole for traffic.

I'm catching the train $2.50 with you opal card on Sunday, about 1hr 20 minutes roughly on the train from Central and also can have a beer at the football if I choose without worrying about driving.

Horrie's right. The ground is a 5 minute walk from the Station. School holiday traffic and all that stuff. Train it.

Thanks for the replies guys. As I live out west it will be quicker to drive than train it as ill just get on the m2 and go from there. I will be going up early so I should find a park near the station. Ill grab a bite before watching the nyc. Looks like the weather will be good too.

Everyone's stuck at Hornsby as there was a medical emergency at Berowra so they are running buses now from what Horrie Hastings just told me. I think half the chookpen is stranded on that train!

I think half the crowd that was going to the game was stuck at Hornsby station and then later at Cowan, I did see and talk to Shannon while we were stranded and did see Andrew Walker ahead in the line waiting for the buses to turn up and I remember Andrew Walker talking to the lovely lady trying to direct people that said she thought that there was no chance that we would get to the game, she wasn't half wrong, missed the first 18 mins but still glad I went but it was probably one of the most frustrating days ever of using public transport and showed the fragility of the whole system without adequate back up plans in place.

I heard about the train delays at the game and was very glad that I drove. Took less than 90 minutes and that with a scenic drive through Gosford as I missed the turnoff for Gosford station, just like I do every time I go up there! Even with traffic coming back I was home before 6pm and I left Gosford at 4.30 pm.

For the first time in years it was actually a successful trip up there. And the weather was glorious!
