  • Billy Slater

I'm hearing we are trying to sign him for 2016-17. I've said it before but there is no way Hayne will be in the NRL or with the Roosters in 2016. His NFL stint will last minimum two years.

No chance. Slater will remain a storm player till he retires and then apparently will be offered a coaching role there. His part of the '' dynasty'' over there he wont leave.

Not sure it will be Slater but there will definitely be a signing for FB in my opinion. No way in this world will we head into next year with Mitchell and Hastings part of our spine.

It'd be a brilliant signing if we can pull it off.

The Storm must realise that if they re-sign Slater for two more years then they're likely to lose Munster who is 10 years younger. Do they want to risk that?

Tbh the smart move would be to stagger the loss of the big 3 and look to replenish them with youth. If they all go at once, on top of Bellamy, then the Storm could be looking at half a decade of wilderness years.

It's a long shot that we sign him but I do admire the club for attempting it if it's true. We're clearly not sitting back and crying over RTS leaving.

He should be good to go after he recovers from surgery. imo one of the greatest fullbacks ever. We could do a lot worse than have him at the back for a couple of years.

If we did sign him it should be on the condition that he give up rep football.

I'm surprised that anyone would have an issue with us signing the greatest fullback of the modern era.

He still has plenty left in the tank and he'd take immense pressure off on Hastings with his ability to ball play.

But I'm going to treat this as a pipe dream until it happens. Only the emergence of Munster and the knowledge that he can't sit in reserves for another two years gives me any kind of hope.

He's insufferable, but I'd change my tune if he came to Bondi.

I'd rather have Munster to be honest.
