No one likes taking a pay cut. It is possible that Myles / Orr went to the Roosters to discuss the contract renewal after 2012 and the Roosters told them the next contract will be less than $400k and that he should test the market if he doesn't like it. Given the market has (reportedly) valued him at $300k, the Roosters may still make him an offer of this amount.

There have been a few instances already this year where players have looked like leaving, then at the last minute resigned with the Roosters (Kennedy, Symonds). It may be part of the Roosters strategy to ensure they don't pay over market value for a player.

Maybe if they had've used this strategy with Anasta, we would've resigned him for $100k?

I am not going to assume that because Myles is testing his value on the market that he is not happy at the Roosters. This may be the case, but I am not going to believe it because of what either his manager or the DT say.

Myles probably just wants to go home, he's said he'll be here this year and next. His chats with the Titans have been for possibly 2013.. People saying he doesn't want to be here and won't give 100% are talking of their ass he had always put his body on the line for us.

3rd party is no longer under the cap right?

so I assume Banasta is getting less up front and a bigger media/City Ford/Greek mafia component

If Myles wants to go after his time is up then good luck to him but we need him to play at top level in the meantime

That is a very generous appraisal of Anasta's worth mate. I think we could have kept him for a pack of gum and a few used condoms.

Myles is the only Bulldog that continually puts his body on the line for Easts, and the Only Bulldog that worked out. I would gladly keep him until he retires.

First Man picked for QLD, and that wont change. Yo are correct, those that bag him havent got a friggen clue.

I spoke to Nate after the game with the Titans at the crowne Plaza where they were staying and let me assure you that he wants to stay at the Roosters but he is been driven out.....

i dont think he is worth that but some club probably would have offered 80 just to have a larf and make Uncle Nick pay overs.

I assume that Noyce and Uncle Nick decided after the stool on the stoop last year that Nate had to go and this is just coming to an end now

I have an interesting theory to what is going on behind the scene's at the Roosters

management have made a decision to rid the club of all the distractions that helped Todd Carney fall back into old habbits in the offseason.

Watts - he sealed his own fate but it was plainly obvious he was one of Todd's drinking buddies during the offseason/early in the new season, he will be out the door as soon as legally possible.

Myles - he was there in the four nations and sat by as he saw Todd self destructing again, also if rumours are correct he was part of the group that travelled in the off season to Mexico with Carney where his problems really kicked in again. Could the club be trying to get rid of Myles as punishment for standing by as Carney was in self destruction mode.

Conn - was dropped from first grade early this season for turning up to training drunk, a well known party boy that was seen with Carney on the grog during the off season. Doesn't look likely he will get another contract

Guerra - was another one of the injured crew that liked to over indulge on the grog, won't be re-signed.

I think you may be on to something Fletch. It does look that way.

As for Myles leaving. He's never won us a game, probably lost us one here and there, yeah he puts in, but I think we get a similar effort out of less expensive player.

There is no doubt that ex Carney Barin is looking to rid the joint of all that were involved in the cancer of 09

He would be aided and abetted by this by Uncle Nick who still holds them responsible for him having to fire Freddie

You may be right fletch, it's a brave decision if correct. Myles is our best forward at the moment and if he loses interest we'll be screwed.

                              Chook.

What a sad indictment on the club if it's looking at sacking four players because they couldn't stop a 24-year old "grown-up" from hitting the drink.
