I am so saddened by this. On hearing SKD is pleading not guilty I so hope that what has been alleged about him is an exaggeration. The circumstances described, namely the alleged offences being many months before a complaint was made and the pair of them now being separated and with her seeking money from him, lead me to want to believe he should be extended a chance to defend himself before being judged.

In addition, the report about the previous boyfriend (link in above post) in court over her allegations gives me some hope Shaun may not be as bad as he sounds - then again he could be. However the following snippet from the article raises questions:

In March, Coe — who plays for the Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development Team that participates in the Australian Rugby Union national championships — was assaulted by Ms Peris when she ‘‘struck’’ him with a power board. He then grabbed it off her and smashed it against a wall. Mr Trigg commended Coe for not retaliating by striking Ms Peris but said he shouldn’t have thrown it at the wall. ‘‘Ms Peris felt scared and intimidated by that action,’’ Mr Trigg said.

So she bashed him with a power board and then rang the police and had him charged because she was "scared" by him smashing the implement he had been struck with against a wall?

    So hold your tickets.

A MAGISTRATE has shown a national rugby union player ‘‘mercy’’ over threatening to bash the daughter of Olympic gold medallist Nova Peris-Kneebone. Magistrate Daynor Trigg said Jah Coe, 27, had been in a ‘‘highly charged, emotional state’’ after his girlfriend, Jessica Peris, 21, admitted her infidelity. ‘‘That would be distressing to anyone in a relationship,’’ Mr Trigg said. Coe pleaded guilty last week to smashing Ms Peris’ mobile phone and to two breaches of a domestic violence order over a five-month period. He escaped conviction and was discharged without penalty for property damage and one breach but was convicted and fined $500 for the final count — which Mr Trigg described as going ‘‘too far’’. The court was told Coe learnt of the alleged infidelity and confronted the other man at his Anula home last October. Prosecutor Marty Aust said Ms Peris showed up and an argument started before she tried to call her mother. ‘‘He smashed the phone on the ground,’’ he said. The court heard that six days later — after Ms Peris played for the Waratahs in the women’s NTFL grand final — Coe threatened to ‘‘smash her face’’ during an argument. He then smashed a second phone when Ms Peris tried to call 000. Mr Trigg said: ‘‘That was the final straw

Rebecca Wilson has written an opinion piece. THE NRL and its clubs make a huge show of their Women in League round and their support for White Ribbon Day.
Today they have a chance to take a genuine stand against domestic abuse allegations and to leave no doubt they view these charges seriously.
The Roosters must take Shaun Kenny-Dowall off their player roster until all of the 10 charges against him are heard.
The sheer breadth of those allegations must be enough to sound alarm bells.
A moral judgment must be made.

While there is no debate about the legal system always asserting the innocence of the charged, Kenny-Dowall has already brought the game into disrepute.

These are not insignificant charges; they are serious and deserve serious attention.
It is now time for NRL boss Dave Smith and Roosters chairman Nick Politis to act.
Stand the player down until further notice or face your own allegations of weakness and double standards.

        ROOSTERS PLAYER SHAUN KENNY-DOWALL CHARGED

So many times we have sat back and allowed superstars the benefit of the doubt.
We have excused their anti-social behaviour and violence against women because a club “needs” its stars to win competitions.
The line in the sand can be drawn today.
Sideline Kenny-Dowall, counsel him, but don’t excuse him because he is a star.

They have not opened the story for comments so you only get Wilson one sided view.
Don't you love how the find the most evil looking photo of SKD.
Again, I don't condone violence against woman but he should be treated just the same as any person. Innocent until proven otherwise.

This sounds more and more like a stitch up. I bet Uncle Nick will have the best silks in town to represent Skids.

If its true, all of this, then he has to go.
W cant condone this type of action and if the club tried to cover it up then we are in big trouble. Points and fines?

I have no idea whats gone on here What I do know for a fact is a woman can make these claims and even if they are not true face no backlash or any other ramifications in the courts for it Wrong on every level clogs up the courts But win win for the lawyers

This information is sourced from the Darwin Newspaper 2012. Information can be found by doing an internet search for Jessica Peris.
SKD's ex Jessica Peris has previous form on assault charges, back in 2012 she brought charges against her then boyfriend, who smashed her phone after SHE assaulted him with a power board, this all happened after she told him she was screwing someone else. Remember she also comes from a mother who was charged with spending taxpayers money to fly a lover over from London......this is a totally screwed up family, and they thrive on this kind of stuff, and I feel sorry for SKD getting mixed up in this.

Yep thaaaaat's what an assault is... purely somebody feeling scared. Not for a minute suggestion I know what went on here, or what decision the court will make (for each individual charge... 10 of them).

However, IMO most people who haven't been seen how the court process works will assume 'shyte!!! Charged must mean this was damn serious!!!'

In reality, every night the cops break up domestics when one calls the cops. I've had multiple ex partners, close friends and family members who have 'assaulted' me and would IMO pretty easily have criminal convictions if I called the cops every time there was a bit of a blue/argument.

Not saying this means SKD's innocent or guilty for any of the charges (or that most domestics are nothing situations). However, IMO I think it's important to remember that a common assault (while serious) is a charge that's regularly struck off by the court because it is what it is... 'their actions made me feel scared'. During 1 isolated domestic one could say they felt scared by 'oh he raised his voice', 'he then slammed the door', 'when I told him to come back and talk it over with me he said FAAARK OFF YOU CRAZY BIAAAATCH'. IMO more than likely most of the charges are that kinda thing.

My main concern is the stalking and actual bodily harm. No idea what happened but she could have a punched in face and photos of it (plus reports to friends). If that happened then SKD's faaaarked.
