Fittler was just bringing up a valid point that the officials are scared to bin blokes in games
Don't know why the 5min bin isn't brought back.

They should've had another man in the bin for a professional foul.

Taupau should cop some time on the side line.

It was no accident. The intent was there!

All we need is Jimmy missing the remainder of the season with a broken jaw.

Look I agree but I think in the modern day 10 minis too much, bring I back to 5 mins and it will be used more often.

It was quite a deliberate and cowardly act by Taupau... Jimmy may have said something he didn't like during the game.

Luckily he seemed to be OK....He's been just about our best in recent games and we would be buggered if we lost him...esp with Pearcey being off the pace lately.

            Great forward?
He has had one good game in his career.

If one of our players did that in a high pressure game you'd be more pissed off at his stupidity than any ref call.
Taupau did it out of pure frustration time had run out and they were going to lose again. End of story.
              I can't stand Fittler's comments.
Channel 9 have moulded him as another idiot with dumb comments.

taupaus hit was just a typical dumb hit from a frustrated buffoon. The thing i dont like is the 10 mins in the big is an automatic reduction in the grading process of the infringement. its like time served. i think the 10 minutes in the bin is worth 25 points. so if it was a 100 point careless high tackle infringement, he only gets 75 points then that will reduce to 50 points with an early plea.

I like it because he serves some of his punishment against the team he committed the offence against, not some random team that they play next week....

I believe that Brad "Freddy" Fittler was correct in his assessment that the scoreline influenced the decision of the referees. I do not hold much faith that had our team been winning by a margin of 6 points or less or perhaps even trailing by 6 points or less that the referees would have used the sin bin with such limited time remaining.

It is coincidental that Ray "Rabs" Warren mentioned the Simon Dwyer tackle from the season 2010 finals series match against the Wests Tigers because that is a perfect example of the scoreline influencing the decision of the referees. Had that match seen a larger differential in the scoreline I believe that a penalty would have been awarded and had that tackle occurred in the territory of the Sydney Roosters I also believe a penalty would have been awarded but it was not awarded because our team would have taken an easy penalty goal to win and the talking point would have been the referees influencing an important match.

The look on Taupau's face when Hargraves got him in a nice choke hold was priceless. His eyes bugged out of his head like a poly Steve Buscemi

3 weeks if he takes the early guilty plea, GOOD - a dirty high shot and punished as such.
