not suggesting I want Maubs at 6. I just think that if Hastings isn't on the bench, and if one of the halves goes down injured, then Maubs would be an option at 6. What would you do if one of the halves went down and Hastings wasn't on the bench?? Enlighten us will you.

For a start Hastings would be there, as I - like Robbo - know that having him in the 17 is effective should certain players go down; Hooker, HB, 5/8, FB.

But if Hastings wasn't fit and one of the halves went down, then yeah - you'd probably pop Aubbo at 5/8. But that's a whack premise in the first place.

We haven't missed a beat with Hastings in the side since he debuted, so why on earth would you want to leave him out unless you think Aubbo's a better half than him?

I don't think Hastings being on the bench has anything to do with covering positions. Its more about getting him ready for first grade.
The fact he can cover those positions is a bonus to an extent.
The other thing is with him getting limited time, it prepares the other players to be ready for the reduced interchange.

Its going to take a hell of a lot of work to get anyone we have near the standard of Maloney's kicking.

Mitchell makes too many mistakes in all his games, he let in 3 tries last week and nearly cost his team the game before scoring at the end. Watch his games, he is no where near ready for first grade and If he played there now, everyone would be saying how crap he is. He has the talent but is no superstar. I am heading to Newcastle now to watch our u20s and first grade............. Gooooooooooooo Roosters ! in all his games

Latrell is playing NYC, Elliot in for SKD.

Pearce has a slight hammy strain and will likely be rested, Hastings to start in the halves, Matagi or McIllwrick into the 17.

Important we win this game and next week. Our run in to the finals will be exhausting, it is paramount we win in the first week of the finals and get that week off. The best chance of doing that is finishing top 2. We need to win this to finish top 2.
