Wouldn't read too much into that worrying 25 minute patch. Two very uncharacteristic mistakes by RTS were pretty much solely responsible for that momentum shift, brought the crowd into the game and pumped up Newcastle. Can't see him making those same mistakes when the game is in the balance, he was too busy counting tries 4, 5 and 6 in his head. We will be at our best against the Broncos in two weeks time.
I support two NRL teams, the Roosters and whoevers playing Souths

Without the two RTS stuff ups I reckon we still only let one try in. Need to focus on completing a game, we get a bit ahead of ourselves sometimes. As soon as we scored the first try in the second half we went on to auto pilot, nothing that can't be fixed. looking forward to Pearce coming back next week

32 points and they switched off. Once the score got past 20 you could tell we were trying a lot more in attack which probably made our defence suffer later on. I think Robbo will have them playing a smart 80 against parra to get ready for Broncos.

I wouldn't worry too much about the 22 points Newcastle put on, they started getting a lot more of the ball and the penalty count swung there way and 2 of the 4 tries came off uncharacteristic RTS mistakes, really the only time they broke our defence was for the last try.

Agree with people saying without RTS mistakes, We don't concede much more points but a couple of tries we conceded were pretty soft.

Possession via our mistakes and cecchin letting them back in the game - the Evans mistake really put the pressure on us towards the end yet experience shone for us. the tin men got away with their niggling tactics u could see Friend blowing up all the time.

                      • Not worrying? This is par for the course. Against poor teams we either don't turn up or we switch off. Against good teams where we've got into a good lead we switch off. We do that in the finals and we are done. May as well have gone on holidays for those 26 rounds because we'll have achieved exactly nothing. Vastly different side to the 2013 team who you knew could hold a team to zero even with a small lead, let alone a big one.

But those penalties were warranted and then some dumb knock ons (Evans, Liu...)...This is where you just have to accept that it wont always work 100% in our favour and move on to the next game. A tougher team will have them better focused. Toupo has woken up which is good. Lets hope that SKD can get himself back cause that right side is a worry without him and Pearce.

At the end of the day, were the only team in the top 4 who got the points.

                          • We are still playing better footy than any team in the top 4.

The Dogs put 28 unanswered points on us last week, how much tougher do we expect. I'm concerned this is becoming our Achilles heal. We were beating Souths 22 nil rd 26 last year and they scored 18-20 unanswered points. Then the cows in the semi scored 30 points and nearly took the game. In our major semi we were 12 nil up on Souths and they scored 32 unanswered points. It has happed three or four times this year as well. Trent must stop this rot now or it will become a psychological problem.
