  • Roosters Now Red Hot Favourites To Take 2015 Premiership

    $3.00 to win GF.

Cant remember last side to be this short to take it out this far out from the semis. Hope the bookies are justified.

I was just looking at that and the ladder.

We could be in 1st place after this round.

Who do you think will win?

    Cows vs Souffs

    Broncos vs Dragons

I think the cows and Broncs peaked a month ago, we have another gear or 2 as do souffs

We're looking good, but it's a long way out.

As short as those odds are, any quote above the $2.00 price is saying that, at this stage, the team probably won't win.

Until they get the mid game yips out of their play, I wont be backing them to win a Grandfinal, don't like seeing that, it shows a mental weakness, that will lose big games.

Settle down all and let's not get too excited.

We all remember last year we were also favourites and lost the semi. It only takes one loss in the semis and if we play the same way we we've played over the past fortnight then we can all kiss the grand final good bye

Now paying $2.75 on the TAB

Like mentioned, if they continue to have have mid-game lapses like the last two weeks, we can forget all about the premiership.

If we have one of those patches during any of the last three games, it will show we are not mentally switched on to win the comp and, like last year, we will probably throw it away.

We are clearly the best team in the competition, it is just about being mentally ready to go all the way. (and to not get stitched up by the wankers with the whistle)

Oddly enough, I think there is an upside to these lapses that might be good preparation for the big games. In both games, we have shown that we can steady the ship and regain enough momentum to win. I've seen Roosters teams in the past that have folded when the momentum shifts (particularly when referees reinforce this shift with huge second half penalty counts). This happened in the Penrith semi last year and, although we won, in the Cowboys semi too. Even the 2013 team had problems - remember the Canberra game where momentum shifted and we got beaten on the bell.

Robbo was justifiably unhappy with what happened against the Knights, but he seem very pleased with the way things went against the Dogs. I think he saw that this ability to seize back the momentum was an important thing to learn.

They should not be relying on the ability to come back. It won't work against the best sides.

When they have their foot on the throat they have to twist it until the head comes off. We need that killer instinct - though in fairness as a club we haver really had it since Dave Brown was around.

We had it in 74 and 75.

After watching SBW's limp display for the All Blacks I am confident SST is our man of the moment, A sleeping giant....

Souths only other gear is reverse.

                        They are buggered.

I'm taking about crushing a hapless opposition who you have at your mercy.

In 74/75 we had no games where we scored more than 50 out of 44 regular season games.

In 1935 we had 6 scores greater than 50 out of 18 regular season games.

                          That's what I'm talking about.
