Pure speculation - Robbo was just experimenting because he was confident that we would get the 2 points. As we know, this nearly backfired!
At least we now know NOT to use the Fergo/Maubs combo in the future!!!

Wouldn't you be better off giving the young inexperienced winger Elliot more game time leading into the finals rather than experiment?

Surely the more games he and Fergo play together should be a priority especially if SKD looks like missing the remainder of the season.
