  • Has anyone been keeping tabs on Joe Burgess?

How's his form been? Do you think that he's got what it takes to make it here?

  • #2
Leading try scorer in SL I think.

He's been the best winger in their comp, from what I'm told at least. I know it doesn't always translate over here but it's better then being the worst winger in SL.

I predict he will be a reserve grader and have a similar career at the Roosters as Remi Casty. He is behind Toups and SKD already. He seems unlikely to play in the centres or at fullback. Strange signing imo.

He's better and younger then Casty.

He's plays wing too which is the most transferable position between the two leagues.

I can remember him signing for only $90,000, so worst case scenario is Wyong get an English international who is on little money.

              I reckon.
We always had wing covered.People were talking about Latrell playing there before Roger buggered off.
And Elliot re-signed plus Smith at Wyong looks the goods.
Why import a specialist winger from England?

I classify POS a very good judge of talent.
From what i've seen of Joe i'm impressed. Comparisons to Brett Morris in physique, running style and speed.

                  Indeed, very similar to Morris.

If we can get him firing we will have a real weapon on our hands.

He may be our fullback come Round 1 next year!

Agree on POS, just questioning the thinking behind signing a specialist winger.
Our depth for next year seems a bit imbalanced.

Yeah I woulda thought a guy who is essentially Dally M winger over there could fetch $500k or so (maybe more).

Why come over here on less and join a team that already has a stack of quality backs? Playing for Wyong won't be like playing with SKD, Fergo, Toops and friends. I'll be park footy with little $$$ and beers with the boys every other night. I dunno if it's even good for his professional development?

All I know is that every time I watch a Wigan game for 15 minutes he makes at least 1 error. He's made 34 errors in 25 games this season.

If people pull their hair out over SKD dropping the ball they are going to be going crazy at this guy.

Can I remind you guys that Justin Carney is also a superstar in England? Well until he bonked one his teammate's partners.

Do I need to mention the Warriors most recent fullback?
