I thought the same when i saw our big 4 sitting on the sideline, there was 2 million plus sitting on that bench, take it as a compliment.

Yes it is a compliment to the experience of the players and the circumstance of the club. But then you got the other ignorant fans from whatever team going off saying that the commentators are accusing us cheating the cap. these guys talk off their cuff. They don't script their banter like the snort thing...it all started innocent and being the old dude that Rabbs is, he probably didn't realise about Freddy.

Well I did say Rabbs 'and co' and this thread is about Gus. But for example that thing about Elliott... Does it really matter? Do you pay so much attention waiting to hear what you want to hear? Yes I do hear so crap from time to time but when the team is playing well then he praises it like on Friday he was calling Roger s freak an 'wowed' about Lius try and amazed with Toupos 3 tries... What more do you want?
Even Smith from Fox says something I wish he'd shut it but they are there to call a game and 'try' to be impartial but like ALL fans, they re all against their team. You go to any forum and see the whinges from fans saying that they love the Roosters, Souths, Manly etc etc etc...

Yes it does matter because Rabs drives me batty . He's a senile old fool and he does hate the Roosters and as hard as he tries he cannot keep his bias against the Roosters in check. And as hard as I try I cannot keep my dislike for him in check either. So there...!

Yes there was a lot of salary cap on the bench. I would suggest Manly have an awful lot of their salary cap tied up in their backline too.

Can't agree. The old fool - rabs that is - absolutely loves Wests, Newcastle, the so called pride of the league, Penriff and Parra. You only have to listen to how he waxes lyrical about their history, their passionate supporters, their salt of the earth people, their diehards. When he talks about easts it's all about money, rosters, salary caps, poor crowds and Ladidahs.
The crap about our roster last night was typical Warren. I was disgusted that Gus instigated it. And what about when he was talking about Elliot. Mentions he is a JUNIOR from Runaway bay and represented QLD u20s but no mention of him coming through the roosters system. Typical Warren.

Brendan Elliot didn't come through our system he was signed as a highly regarded under 20's prospect from the Gold Coast Titans.

He played for the Roosters NYC team I believe for 3 years. And yes he came down from the Gold Coast. Meaning he is a Gold Coast junior who has been in the roosters system since 2012 when he was an 18 year old. This is different to Curtis Rona , a kiwi born player who grew up in Perth, played 3 years for the roosters in NYC and only 2 years at the Cowboys, but who Ray Warren insists on continually saying came through the Cowboys system.
Anyway, whatever. The fact is the Roosters do not produce juniors like Souffs and parra and Penrith and Brisbane and Wests and whoever. Could Ray Warren just get over that fact. The game has moved on and it matters not where a player came from. Rant over.

1) Robbos coaching ability

2) Peter O 'Sullivan's vision/recruitment .

3) A responsible front office that doesn't spend $1.2 million on 1 player. Building a squad where the focus is on preparing fringe players to slot straight in and perform/do the job, if and when required.

2) Manly's insane back ended contracts leaving them with an average pack and no depth.

It'd be nice if Gus and Rabs highlighted the above occasionally rather than feed the sheeple with their nonsense and innuendo.

Precisely. This is my point. Instead of praising the roosters, Warren and for some reason Gus too on this occasion, go down the path of negative innuendo. And no they don't do this with every club and yes it does annoy me.

We have to admit that our roster is by far the best in the game.

But we know the primary reason is POS and players wanting to play at our club - not a bunch of brown paper bags.

It's a great feeling to know the people at the roosters are working for the good of the club and it's future, some people can't handle money like what happened at seagulls fc (my mum worked for the footyadministrator) you can't just buy good players gotta have a good system

We have nobody anywhere near that money. Our biggest would be half of that amount.

I do think RTS is worth the $800K Worriers are paying him. However, the simple fact is that we would not be able to match it with our roster without letting a couple go. And that would be too risky so it was never on the cards.

I suppose that's what the salary cap is for. Rewarding mediocrity.

That DCE deal is going to hamstring Manly. They are headed for some very bleak years.
