As the semis get closer, and the prospect of finishing 1st gets better as each games goes, the semi v Penrith from last year has been haunting me for a while and is now leading to a dose of paranoia.
If we beat Souths next week, that takes our streak to 12 - can the club win 15 in a row to win comp? That's another story. But in regards to the first home semi, I believe that is crucial. Losing that game makes it so much tougher, as we found out last year. Not only will the boys face the taste of defeat (which they haven't in around 3 months), but it could force Pearce to come back earlier than needed in week 2 of the finals.
Should I be this nervous about week 1 of a finals series? I just worry that heading into the semis on the back of 12 straight wins, against a team like the sharks or bulldogs, could lead to an average mindset and us getting our pants pulled down like last season.
