Absolutely ridiculous if that is the case...
The red head is a must signing, but my point is the only real leader we have is being let go for less than the red head.

Yeh gotta agree here Melon, one of the most under appreciated Roosters in a long time. He is our forward pack; Kennedy, Maubs, Symonds, Masoe, JWH etc are all just pups. Anasta isn't leading any forward pack at the moment he's still a back in my books.

Noyce & Smith will have a lot to answer for if he goes.

        Anasta is clueless at 5/8th.
Anasta doesn't have the workload of a forward.
Anasta doesn't have the speed of a centre.

He is really of no use to us other than as a backup. Yet we are getting rid of a lot of talent to retain him.

I feel sick at the thought of losing Nate Myles. Fred68 has said in the past that Myles never has and still doesn't give a rat's rectum about the Roosters but I have trouble believing that when I see the effort he puts in most weeks and compare that effort with the captain. As I said, it makes me feel sick and yes, it makes it harder, no, much harder, to support the Roosters.

Have faith Melon. I'm sacrificing a neighbourhood cat a week to Beelzebub for Nate to be re-signed due to Anasta offered a better deal back at Souffs to play 5/8 and Sutton at halfback.

            Chook.

Recruitment and retention has been crap for years. Nothing the club does surprises me.

With the Knights signing Kade Snowden, I reckon it may mean they won't chase Myles as hard.

Cronulla on the other hand will have some space to move under the cap and may go after Myles (if they think he will make a good prop). I'm hoping that they chase Anasta for the experience he can bring their pack or halves. Lets hope!

I really don't get how the Tits can be signing such good talent- surely they can't get Myles signature and still be under the cap. Searle is either a wizard with the books or is risking a lot!

I agree that Myles needs to stay. He has had some ordinary games at the start of this year, but when fully fit, he is one of those players that really puts his body on the line and I agree that the best of him is yet to come.

In my opinion, Nate Myles has been our best forward for 3 years, injuries and off field dramas included.

We cannot win a comp without him. Neither can we win without Carney.

Any suggestion that he should be offloaded to save money so we can buy someone else, is the most ridiculous anyone from this club has made in 30 years.

I can understand releasing Fitzy. i can understand releasing Soward and I definitely understand releasing Finch.

But not this guy. No way. no how. Worth every cent hes being paid.

Like him or lump him, dropping him to buy outside backs or a prop is non-sensical. When you can save half your cap by dropping Anasta, Ryles, Mini, and Graham, there-in the answer lies.

Myles must be wined, dined and 69ed. A must keep as our senior forward. An Origin first pick for QLD every ****ing year.

If we allow him to leave without exhausting our options, we are kidding ourselves yet again Nick Politis.

If we allow him to leave and we keep dead weight like Anasta and Minichiello, then I will drop my support for this club and this team.

After 40 years i will stop following Easts. I refuse to allow a bunch of guys that know **** all about commitment and football, and how the two are molded together, to continue tormenting me. I refuse to support people that are good at building wealth but not much else when it comes to football. I refuse to continue to allow a bunch of men, way past their use by date continually make teh wrong decisions around retention, and player well being.

And Ill refuse them to torment the next generation of Gourds too. Some of you may rejoice and wish me on the way, Im expecting some fresh faced ****wit who started supporting us in 2007 to even tell me to not let the door hit my buns of steel arse on the way out.

But with heavy heart I say - I dont care.

Please Easts, try your best to keep Nate Myles. he is a keeper. A proven performer who puts his body on the line every week.

No more Easts. Wake up or as much as it kills me to say, be ****ed off.
                  G'day All,
Lets not get too carried away.
Nate Myles has been fantasic for the Chooks. Anthony Minichello has been fantsic for the chooks, Adrian Morley was fantasic for the chooks. Brad Fittler was fantasic for the chooks. Craig Fitzgibbons was fantasic for the chooks. Luke Ricketson was fantasic for the chooks, Kevin Hasings was fantasic for the chooks, Arthur Beetson was fantastic for the chooks, Mark Harriss was fantasic for the chooks(etc).........BUT unfortunately players age or they just move on. REAL ROOSTER supporters stay loyal to their team hand and stay with the team through the good and the bad. That what made 2002 such a great year.
HARDEN UP SO CALLED ROOSTERS SUPPORTERS WHO CAN'T HANDLE THE TOUGH TIMES....STAY LOYAL

I don't see too many people wanting him gone. I think people are assuming he is on the outer with Smithy.

I was under the impression (garnered from here) that Coach Smith was not a massive fan of his other than as a spare parts utility man and may consider him expendable

He hasn't really kicked on from where he left off last year, so that may now be the case. I honestly thought he would be pushing for City Country honours this year. He seems to have gone a little backwards if anything.

Well given that Adam Cuthbertson was picked for City it maybe slightly dubious to consider City a truly Representative 'honour' but Conn seems a touch caught in between being a metre eating prop and ball playng backrower, slightly short on size for one and pace for the other
