  • The Evans 'Try'

I have no doubt he was short and it was not a try. But full marks to James Graham and Des Hasler for their response to it. The media first tried to get something from Graham about it straight after the game. He said the Roosters were just too good.
And in the presser the media would not let it go. It's all they wanted to focus on. Change of momentum etc. Yet Hasler continually said it was not the reason for the loss. Did say it was no try but brushed it aside.
    Well done Columbo.

You're 100% sure it didn't touch an edge of white line? Considering we get the feed in standard definition and on such a low angle, I doubt anybody can be 100% sure which is why it was a try.

No way the video ref could've taken it off him after it had gone up a try.

But was the wrong decision to send it up as a try.

Kane was later held off the ball after a Maloney linebreak, I reckon he was a pretty good chance to support and score (so did the Canterbury defender who held him bacK), so we'll call it even

Why are most fans certain it was no try? The ref was 4 feet away lookig closely at it and said "try". where is the clesr image that says otherwise? you're speculating that it was short and did not touch the white line!!!!!!

Either way the tackle was completed. It was poor. I really liked the way the game was unfolding and the mettle the chooks were showing. I actually think we would have won regardless but after that try Canterbury threw in the towel. I don't know if that is a good thing for our mindset. The dogs were crap.

And btw I think that ref is an attention seeker. He needs a diamonte and tassels in his whistle

Many tries that aren't tries, are given over a season of footy, in most cases it evens itself out, all clubs know that, and basically accept it, same with forward passes, you see a few every game, some benefit from them and score a try others don't, again they even themselves out. We will never get the game perfect, we just have to accept that, and move on.

I think I would have blown up if it was the other way around.

                    No doubt?

The ball finished up over the like and the ref was right there.

The difference in the commentary could not have been different. Nine had to mention it every time we scored a try after and plenty more in between. Fox said we will run with it and hardly mentioned it again.

I can't believe the controversy over this. I honestly think it was a try.
Either way, we were the much better team and deserved the win.

Exactly. The ref got an angle none of us have seen yet.

How desperate can you be for a bitter excuse. All of a sudden a refereeing moment is spotlighted as if that's not a weekly thing and the whole league gets called into question? lol. Madness. This try is small potatoes in the grand scheme. Watched the replay and Ray Warren is cheerleading for the No Try. Had Rona caught the bomb and also not later fumbled the play the ball they wouldn't have been pinned down there, so we can sit here all day and talk hypotheticals. Dogs got punished for their errors, bottom line. GOODBYE DOGGIES!!!!!!

                            ALL beside the point

Kane has a habit of being the 'RUINER' of the comp

he is quickly becoming our X factor

the loathing by media has been a circus to behold

by the way the ref had the best view out there..............well done refs!!! a great preformance

If it was against us the commentators wouldn't have even mentioned it.

I love it how that senile p*1ck warren keeps jabbing us with the "this could be RTS and Maloney's last game for the chooks" at the kick off , and "brilliant try from the warriors bound RTS" . Should have gone to the game were it not for the rain and the quality of opposition fans.
