To win a comp you need to be very good and have luck with injuries. While it was a great fairy tale we were always up against it after we lost our halfback and fiorward leader to effectively season ending injuries.

While last night was dross, jus imagin if...

    Brisbane lost hunt and Parker
    Melbourne lost Cronk and Bromwich
    Cowboys lost Thurston and Scott

We were done after the broncos game but our club showed its grunt by winning the mp and making the prelim

We were the least injury effected side all year. Used the least amount of players. We didn't lack anything by losing Pearce as hoju filled in admirably. Can't blame losing the comp on being without jwh. Yes he is a fantastic player but we beat the broncs two games ago without him.

      We blew it - again.

      Just like 2003, 2004 and 2014.

Quite simply, Wayne Bennett gave Robinson a masterclass in how to handle a finals campaign. As a coach, you have to take opportunities to rest players as we should have against Souths. Pearce was never going to make it through the game. The team was showing a distinct lack of preparedness compared to the Broncs which were finely tuned and reseted. With our new roster, we're unlikely to be in the back end of the finals next year but Robinson still needs to sit back and learn from the master.

It was well publicised that the Broncs would come out all guns blazing and it was essential that we held them for the first 20 minutes to blunt their game plan. Instead, we did exactly what they wanted and more. The chooks appeared to be rattled and overawed by the occasion and the crowd yet it was our team that boasted the greater number of finals experienced players.

Bottom line, poor planning, poor game plan and poor execution.

Fingers crossed for 2017 or 2018 IF we invest in some talent.

I think 2014 was souths with or without refs helping hand, their forwards were too good. Losing the 1st qualifier killed us both years, but i can accept souths were always better.

Playing in one grand final with in most people's opinion in the past 3 years with the best playing roster, is just not acceptable .
At the game, without doubt the turning point was the SKD stuff up. Brisbane lifted

I can't. We were minor premiers for a start.

I think we were still the best side on potential last year. But Souths were the better side throughout the year. We were far better this year than last year. Last year we had no hunger the whole season. It was the dodgiest minor premiership in a while. Plus last year, on top of Souths' hunger, they had Sam Burgess who was the equivalent of SBW in 2013 in terms of what he brought to their team

                  The best playing roster?

Halfway thru 2015 it looked like we wouldn't even make the 8, let alone the top 4.
Our players did a superb job getting into the top 4 for a shot at the finals.

Last night...one word, 'pressure'...well two words..."nerves"...same as the Wallabies, dropped ball and mistakes everywhere against Fiji in their opening World Cup match.
                  Players are not machines/robots.
South Africa was beaten by Japan [only ever won one World Cup match before?]

We beat ourselves with two diabolical errors We then spent too much juice trying to reduce the head start we gave them Deeply disappointing end to what was generally an enjoyable season to follow this club Next year I will start the same way I start every other year and that is hoping we win more games than we lose

SKD may have stuffed up first and later on...crickey he did have a bad night but I don't think he can be blamed for all the tries down his side. The Broncos left attack were making so much ground through that side, even Milford was offloading at will, SKD probably felt the need to come inside leaving their wide players free.

Then again all the players had different levels of stuff up last night and including Robinson.

With such s great 'roster' we have to accept the choking tag we are probably being labeled at present.

Maybe next year they won't be accusing us of being over the cap...as if! 👎

That's true but we also lost two key players at a crucial time. Hastings showed the potential that we were all hoping to see but that didn't make up for the loss of Pearce, against Melbourne or last night. We missed Hargreaves hugely last night and again against Melbourne. Think of the comparison with any of the other four teams losing their halfback and forward leader leading into the semis and they would not be there next week either.
