AFL a more open game less prone to sheningans to disadvantage the top teams. You can't compare.

I liken them to Cam Smith, Thurston etc in the NRL. Have strong commitment and get better with age.
Mate those three are only a fraction of the superstars they have. Throw in Rioli, Burgoyne, Roughead, Gibson, Birchall, Gunston, Breust, Frawley and Lake and about another half dozen who will fall into this category in a few years time. They are a champion team full of champions across the park. Where some teams rely on one or two players to score most of their goals, the Hawks can have 12 scorers in a game. Their players can fill in different positions to suit whatever team they play. In an age where the draft and salary cap should even out the comp they have mastered the draft. They fill in gaps every year with experienced star players and develop players into super stars from late draft picks. Their system is unmatched. They lost a couple of veterans in Hale and Lake this year but there are ready developed youngsters to take their spot. I can't see any team getting close to them in the next couple of years unless injuries get to them. This is the greatest AFL team in history. I compare the quality of their team to when Brisbane had basically the Queensland SOO team. You can't tell who I support.

No team in the NRL can mimic what they have done. Our cap just kills us.

We've also had an awesome roster over the past 3 seasons. I guess that's why it's a little disappointing.

I don't follow AFL, BUDDY but i'm curious to know how many of those Hawks players you've listed would make the Australian AFL team if it were selected?

            I honestly don't know.

            But I'm excited.

I think next year is a real changing of the guard.

I'm excited too. I think a lot of the pressure will be off us. I think SoH will more than cover for BBQ particularly in defence. I just hope Robbo doesn't change our 2 to 5 to try and put in a stop-gap solution for fullback. Fergo and Jennings are our best centres and nobody else gets close and Toups and SKD are not fullbacks.

It will be interesting to see if we move one or two players on and get some new talent to change a few things similar to when LOD and Jennings came in 2013.

As for the question regarding seeing how the Hawks do things, I heard this morning on BSB that Madge is in contact with Clarkson to swap ideas. It obviously didn't help last year's premiers.

We still have a great pack. Evans will be even better.
Hard to make a call without knowing who our FB will be. It's obviously such an important position.
