Found the following;

Monday 29 June 2015 Randwick and Waverley Councils have today, 29 June 2015, lodged their joint merger proposal to the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) in response to the NSW Government’s Fit for the Future program.
The merger will create a new eastern suburbs council area with a population of 216,000 residents from Vaucluse to La Perouse and is expected to deliver cost benefits over 10 years of $103M.

Apparently the residents have spoken on the issue. Let's hope that certain randwick ahem ted seng councillors remember that when it comes to acknowledging what geographical area of Sydney they represent.

pretty soon the borders of randwick council will probably be reduced or the council forced to merge so all those arrogant councillors out of a job, elections next year anyway!

Found this online. It is an email response from Randwick Council after being asked on their position, who funded the lol@souffs flags etc

“Randwick Council is flying Souths banners to mark the start of the 2013 NRL season and to wish our local side well in the season. Council produces a variety of banners each year to activate and bring colour to our town centres and beaches and to help celebrate major events and occasions.
“The banners have created some lively discussion and seemed to have opened up old-fashioned Easts verses (sic) Souths rivalry. Generally, Randwick City is considered the home of the Rabbitohs. Our government area runs from Centennial Park in the north to La Perouse in the south taking in 14 eastern beaches. Souths Juniors is located in Kingsford and Juniors at the Junction in Maroubra. Council works closely with the Rabbitohs on a number of social projects including helping disadvantaged children in the southern part of our city.
“The actual boundaries of areas that ‘belong’ to a football team are a bit grey – and it’s likely we have many residents who are neither Souths nor Easts fans. Many of the Clovelly and Bondi junior rugby league teams play in the Souths Juniors Competition – and even the name of the Roosters was changed from Easts to Sydney City reflecting a different area. We’re proud to support our local side and hope they continue their good form.”

As a Randwick council resident I plan on voting, participating and supporting my council in various shades of grey. If they need any support for the merger then they can always ring Russell...

Went past in the bus last Friday and the park in Alison Rd had the Roosters flags flying

Mate of mine is high up in the bureaucratic side of things. As a mad Rooster, he has been trying to remind those who make decisions that there are a lot of Rooster supporters in the area. It has been getting better.

I'd like to see the offending material left outside on the curb the night before in a neat pile. I'd pay good money to watch Randwick council come and collect it.
