Did you watch him play this year?

An absolutely dreadful fullback. He was replaced in the no.1 by Reece Robinson FFS.

    Reece. ****ing. Robinson.

    That's how bad Hoppa went.

Did he play to his potential in 2015? (I can't believe I'm actually typing this TBH... ideas like potential and the Eels in the same sentance)

Hate to sound pedantic , but in 40 odd years of watching league, that's the first time I've heard a fullback called an outside back.
The term refers exclusively to the 3/4's.

I thought that was common knowledge. For most, anyway

I was referring to the reasoning given for not wanting to look at a cheap option at fullback with proven first grad experience but yes your pedantic sentiment has won and I will admit my error in terminology. Unlike many of the people here I can admit to my mistakes.

According to the lot of you, he';s not even worth sounding out.
I did not watch a lot of the Parramatta Eels this season but I do sense that there is potentially a Daniel Mortimer scenario about the possibility of signing Will Hopoate. I thought he was awful in the state of origin series and it should have been him being dropped instead of Daniel Tupou but it must also be remembered that the Parramatta Eels are a truly terrible football team with a terrible culture and perhaps being back at a team like ours where there is a winning culture and a culture of hard work and discipline, as there was when he was at the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, will see him raise his game back to the level that saw him reach representative rugby league. Unfortunately you will be yelled at ridiculed by the certain group of fans on here for suggesting possibilities beyond the obvious and some fans seem to believe that their opinion is fact because they can add in swear words to their posts.

                    Appreciate your reply.

Some here surely can't be serious with suggestions like "wouldn't get a start at our club"... FFS, that's talk like we still have RTS, Tedesco signed for 2016 and Munster due in 2017.

At the right price he'd be worth a dabble at. Like you said, first grade, SOO and grand final experience, can play fullback. Ticks a few boxes. May deserect himself with us

It's hard to gauge with hoppa. Before he left on his mission he had the world at his feet. Last year he was awful. As mentioned, he couldn't even hold the fb spot at Parramatta. I think a full off season will do him good by letting him regain the size and strength that he would have lost. Don't get me wrong, I'd consider him.. At a bargain price but as a state of origin player he will go to a bottom feeding club on big dollars. Rather then spend 300-500k a year on hoppa I'd rather invest in retaining our stars so we don't see another farce like losing shek.

Will do me at a very cheap price. Robo could do wonders with him, Mitchell is still 2 years away yet. but as i have said before I would give skd the roll next year.

Hoppa is an average player and has been seriously overrated I think.

It's a no thanks from me.

Classic, the way you put that, lol.

Will he take big bucks off the titans, or go to a competitive team for a lot less?
