  • "Sugar" Kane Linnett

Looks to have all the goods, speed, size, strength, defense, aerial ability and hands. But...

I fear he is one of those guys whose body has the strength of wet tissue paper and we will never get to enjoy his gifts

He looks OK. I swear SKD has made me forget what a classic centre should do. Recieve the ball at pace and slice through the defence with a turn of pace and a subtle swerve (ryan cross). Exactly like Linnets try. SKD believes the horizontal is the new vertical.

            Plays way above his weight

The kid is just unlucky, finally makes it back to first grade, scores a nice try, then injured.

It was a very awkward position to have the shoulder in when someone is falling on top of you.

              Could have happened to anyone.

He'll be back stronger and faster.

Just a mental note, looking up Sugar Kane on google without safe search gives you more than picture of Marilyn Monroe and Some Like It Hot.

He is pretty much the same as Phil Graham in his prime. Big risk is because of the build he may have the same sort of bad run with injuries.

When I was watching the warm up I noticed Linnett had bulked up from last season.

How long do these sorts of injuries take to heal?

Ignoring catcalls in the background from Sharks coach Shane Flanagan while he spoke, Orchard fumed at not having the proper facilities to treat Toyota Cup player Nick Eshman and first grade utility Tom Symonds for compound finger fractures, and Linnett for a season-ending shoulder injury.

Shoulder injuries are problematic because the joint requires round and round movement as well as up and down. It also bears all the weight of the arm.

Surgery is difficult because there is nothing to pin or screw onto

He looked shocking as he left the field and the 2012 diagnosis is no surprise

This was the saddest part of the game for me. Finally something positive, Linnett was looking good and it was good to have him back, only for him to get injured after scoring. Leilua in the centres and Perrett on the wing please! If Graham comes back and BJ stays on the wing that's the wrong move IMO.
