Cutting anyone other than Guerra at this point in time cannot be justified in the minds of the rest of the team. Before anyone pipes up and says the players should just do as they're told and just play, keep in mind that these are two-way relationships between the player and a coach (on behalf of the club). It's a fine balance that needs to be maintained... player application and dedication ^ coach's future goals and plan. If you end up making someone the scapegoat or sacrificing an individual without good reason or explanation you risk loosing the dressing room.
An argument could be made to cut or to keep Guerra depending on how you see him fitting in with the bigger plan. IMO he's a SOO player and should not need the usual prompting, warning or encouraging that may be the case for lesser players. IMO he had a role in this team as a senior player and he neglected to do the job. Any fair dinkum observer will tell you that and any player that doesn't acknowledge as much risks putting their head on the block next.
This 'unspoken reality' is how you keep everyone on the same page, eg Thaiday's relegation to the bench early in the season: does anyone seriously think Bennett spoke to him about it? Both knew he was riding the coat-tails of the others so the actions spoke louder than any words.

Fergo will get his hands on the ball a lot more in the coming season, just thought I'd point that out William..
I hope so because he was ripping his opposite centre a new poo shute and then the ball just stopped going to him. If we used him more we would have won

Fergo showed against Brissy that he's probably our best player. And certainly the best centre in the game. By miles.
So why cut him?
Because he is made of glass and spends as many weeks injured as not, plus would be directly replaced by Hayne giving less disruption to the squad. He is also on decent money so would free up some coin.
Ferguson is a great player, but Hayne is better than him in every way, and in every position. Thats not a slight on Ferguson either, the same can be said for literally every backline player in the game today

It wouldn't be easy managing a talented roster especially when the bulk of the team has achieved most of their goals. Some athletes are just born to compete regardless of their previous success. Others need constant stimulation/motivation.

Fergo is not made of glass. He just has rocks in his head.

Exactly. It's not just about simply massaging talented players egos either... other younger players need teaching, some motivation etc. You need the precious ones to mentor the others and lead the way and the best way to achieve that is by everybody "buying into what the coach wants".
The trick is to convince the most talented players in the squad that they stand to gain the most and you have created a personal 'debt' that needs to be repaid to the coach.
Mind games everywhere in coaching... remember this; "We're the Roosters, we'll be fine"

Of those players JWH is the only one that would cause me pause, thankfully though we have equally high paid backline players that could be moved on instead (Jennings, Ferguson, Pearce would be my picks to free up Hayne level money).
We wouldn't make the finals with Ian Henderson at hooker.

Interesting that the clean ball to Fergo dried up when Pearce went off injured. May have been coincidence.......
No coincidence. When Pearce went off he took the only organisational brain out there off with him...
And that is not a slight on the young Hastings either.
I'm glad he's seen first hand what he has to contend with in 2016.
Certain players around him are going to find out rather quickly what's expected of them come 2016.
