From where I was sitting at the ground, close up, it looked like there was plenty of effort there (perhaps Anasta can be excluded from the list).

I wasn't at the game so you saw more than I did, but from what I saw on TV, there looked a real lack of direction in attack. The attacking structure seems to have gone. I think at one stage the penalties were 7-1 so onfield discipline seems to be an issue as well.

I remember the Monday night game when the gummies beat the Merge, that night they were at full strength whereas yeaterday they were under strength and still held us out time and time again. I think we played dumb directionless footy and they played with heart.

The Sharks got about 6 (I lost count) penalties in the first half while they were playing off their tryline. Not one or 2 but 6! No game plan can combat that.

We did well to only be 8-4 down at half time. In fact, with the few times we were in an attacking position we had a legitimate try disallowed and bombed about 2 others. We could have been in front.

When we were bombing their line in the second half they miraculously held us up or stripped the ball as we were grounding it. On another day we score 3 or 4 tries.

We need to understand that the core of this team were wooden spooners not that long ago.

In 2010, with a new coach and the inclusion of Carney, the team played above expectations and eventually got on a roll. We did win a number of games by close margins so our season could have ended much differently.

This year other teams are treating us with more respect and our weaknesses are being exposed.

We have been in winning positions in about 5 or 6 games now, and won none of them. That is the difference.

On another day, the Sharks concede a try and the floodgates open.

Where we are on the ladder sucks and our team is way off its rhythm but given the disruptions and injuries (12/25 according to another thread), that is not entirely unexpected. We have not chucked in the towel in any game this year that I've seen.

yes certainly agree with you. Its a disastrous decision and those responsible for it should take the blame. They should not have give him 4 years, he should have only got 2 years and we would then be much better off now not having to sack the idiot. If he didnt want to come based on a 2 year deal then that should have shown that he wasnt the right person in the first place.

Smithy didn't want to extend Anasta's contract, so Anasta goes to the media and gets an extended offer from Politis.
So now because Smithy didn't want him, Anasta is playing like a princess and not playing for the coach.
99% of supporters want Anasta gone. So now that Anasta is not playing for the coach, we need to get rid of the coach.
