I will stick with anyone that does their job.

Surely you are not saying that our team looks "coached". They are a rabble and that is the coach's fault.

Interesting to see we made the Grand Final last year.... Also interesting to note that SKD, Aubusson and FPN had break out seasons too. You're one of those weak-as-piss supporters aren't you? The ones who want everything now, now, now. The ones who are afraid of hardwork and have no patience. Sounds like our team actually.

The saddest thing is we are getting rid of Myles who has been the only forward to consistently make an effort over the last few years.
Spot on Dice. Can't agree with sacking Smith Fred. What he needs is to be himself and as Dice says, wield the axe and fark the bad publicity. We need to be ruthless, not pandering to a bunch of gutless pansies.

        Chook.

Last year was a honeymoon year for smith.

We all would have looked like a genius following on from Freddy as coach. Even the girl who started the keep anasta petition would have been an
          improvement on Freddy as coach.

But in so many ways, a true test of coaching ability comes in the second year.

          And smith has failed miserably.

So much talent in our squad.

          Such pathetic performances.

Poor team selections, players playing out of position, defence non existent, no attack, discipline has got worse rather than improve, his recruitment decisions have been terrible.

It starts with the head coach. When smith loses the plot, it's a sad and sickening fall for all those concerned.

More bad times ahead as I've said before.

And for the benefit of the uneducated who can't read - never once did I say that I expect to win the comp this year. But I expect to see a team that looks like it has a coach rather than what is fast becoming a pub team by the look of the way that they play.

If you guys think the coach is not to blame, do you really think we would be last if Bennett or bellamy was our coach?

Smith has continued his strange ways. He did it at Parra with a winning side only to change it and lose. He did some strange things at Newcastle. He was always known to be a tough one and good at cleaning out the side he is going too! Last year I think he was getting to know the players and this year not sure but you can see it in the way the boys are playing. How Anasta is still captain let alone in the team. I know Pearce and Toddy are the attacking weapons but all the other NO. 9's in the comp are working the ball around the ruck. He should be using Friend as another attacking weapon. His kicking game is good. And he can put players through a gap. If I could see more effort form the whole team then I'd say keep him. Watching the player's body language something isn't right. He needs to watch the way other teams are playing and change his game plan. Get all the players involved. Attack as a team. Not rely on one or two players to attack. It is a team game.

no, let's stick with smith because of a fluke honeymoon last year & just so we can have consistency (in shit).

You're not going to get any argument that the team is playing like shit under Smith. The player's attitude is gabbage and that is his fault no question. But you must agree that we are carrying some really heavy dead, wet, wood and not even Bennett or Bellamy could get that shit to fire up. And I can garuntee the lack of effort from our captain is not going unoticed by the rest of the players adding to the shit attitude.

Smith needs to be Smith and get ruthless. Sack Anasta on form! Bang gone, fark off. Take the bad publicity, it'll be worth it. Announce that Ryles, Riddell, Graham, Guera will not be retained with Minichello going overseas for huge money. Start to build for 2012 and judge Smith on being himself, not this new soft and cuddly bullshit.

                    Chook.

What a case of deja vue. I remember Fred68 and his rants in 2007 when Chris Anderson was coach. He reckoned it couldn't get any worse. But guess what Fred, it did and we ended up with the spoon in 09.

And there's nothing to say that another coach would improve the team either.

Fact is we need to shed some players before we shed the coach. We also need our management to finally show some balls and make some hard decisions on which direction they want the club to take. On and off the field.

Changing the coach is the easy option. Changing the culture at the joint is what needs to happen, and starts with management and those who sign these coaches in the first place, not to mention many of the recruitment decisions.

Novice - I know you love my rants.

You were right about mason from the beginning.

I was right about Anderson from the beginning. And I'm right about smith too but I cent take credit fir that as trew said it first here on this site last year.

I wonder if Smithy has other faces sticking their snouts into how he runs the side.

Smith should see out his contract, he's got the runs on the board to rebuild this club and with so many youngsters it's what we need. Patience is never something our club and its supporters have seem to taken well but it was the patience in Gould to rebuild our whole club that eventually payed off if not immediately.

There is a lot of rotten wood in this club, I just hope that when we clear it all away there will be tree left to save.

Maybe Smith is playing it smart, in the sense that, if there are influences from above interfering with his authority, be it management or Politis, he is letting the team falter to the point where he gets his way.

I'm sure he is willing to use as much time as he wants, after all he has another 2.5 years left. If things get worse and we keep on losing, I'm sure he will rip through the squad without much opposition.
