  • Season Opener v Souths

Channel Nein are going to be drooling over this. Apparently the first Friday night game of the season is us v Souffs at Allianz. Burgess' return game... There'll be vermin everywhere all over the place... Real question is, are we strong enough to compete with them next year? I have worries Burgess may make them too strong

There has never been South Sydney Rabbitohs fans "every where" at the Sydney Football Stadium.

Burgess is nothing without the momentum gifted to his team by the game managers.

Luke was the key for them.

2014 will seem like a long time ago as soon as he says, " don't worry lads, I'll drop the pill on the 5th tackle and earn us a penalty"............

I quite often see the isles full 5min before half time. Don't you blokes go to the games?

Yep!Those 2mtr forward passes Luke gave to the vermin forwards was the key to their success.

Luke will be missed but they do have a beauty of a replacement in Damian Cook. He is a state champion beach sprinter, can play hooker/half/fullback, does 50 tackles a game and can kick. He will be a find of the season.

                      Really?

                      You rate Cook?

I put him just above L'Estrange and Mcilwrick and Just below Dan Mortimer.

Anyways, i can't wait for Souffs to implode next season.

                      2014 is long gone!

Our coach never has our team primed for the opener ...likes the slow approach build up to the season ...so I never look forward to first round games ..lets see if he does things differently next year ...he will have to.as the end results does not compliment our form in recent seasons..

next year will be different as we have to travell to pommy land with the drongos and the cows for the pre season then the 9s.

Yes we should be fit and firing early. Hopefully a few cheap early wins against some underdone sides will enable us to take the gas off towards the middle of the season and come home with a wet sail a month or so from the finals.

Personally, I hope we don't have to play the vermin scum first up. It'll be all about the return of Burgess, and the media will probably forget the fact we're even there as they show an avalanche of broken cheekbone clips from the '14 GF.

It's not as though it's tradition anymore, after they punted us from the opener last season in favour of that 'blockbuster' against the Broncos.

So some hopeless mugs at the footy stadium instead for me please. The Knights would be perfect.
