I don't think he can be called average. He hasn't been able to play his preferred position. He wants the fb gig. As mentioned, it would minimise disruption to the backline and give experience along with a genuine finishing ability. I would think a signing like that would push us from a strong top 4 chance to a genuine contender.

Rarely jump on these "potential signings" rumours but this one stands out. Hiku would be an excellent pick-up. Just what we need. I reckon he would thrive in our culture and under Robbo. I am not keen on Fergo moving to fullback.
