  • Moa to the Warriors Hayne to the Roosters

if Hayne does decide to come back to the NRL it will be to the Roosters, who knows what he will decide to do after his first season in the NFL but there is certainly plenty of speculation he is investigating his options after getting a brutal reality check of life in the NFL, always confident in his ability he was rocked when all 31 other teams passed on him when the 49ers cut him and things have only been getting worse at the 49ers with them signing RB's off the street in preference to playing him.

how would we be able to fit Hayne under the cap, we would allow Moa to leave and secure one last big money contract to support his family which would be from the Warriors, and we also have third party deal lined up.

Robbo isn't pushing Moa out the door but he is the one that would be let go if Hayne comes in.

a lot more will be known about Hayne's future after he has his season ending exit interviews with the 49ers on either the 5th or 6th of January, then he will have a better indication if he has a future with the 49ers.

That is a lot of speculation there mate. Things do seem to be not going so great right now for Hayne but I still find it hard to believe he would not stick around for a 2nd year in the NFL. Surely he has to come back next year as a more complete player. Seems like a lot of premature ejaculation to me.

How could the warriors afford the one last massive pay cheque for Moa?
Gold Coast has plenty of money, and DCE has a spare house......................
How about Guerra to the titans instead??

the decision might be taken out of Hayne's hands now, the 49ers have clearly shown they have no intention of actually playing Hayne again this season, they preferred to sign out of work RB's that had to come in and play straight away despite not even knowing the 49ers play book, its a damning indictment of Hayne's performances so far, especially given the 49ers are now effectively tanking for a higher draft pick.

the NFL is a ruthless business, teams will cut hall of fame quality players if they are not performing, its a what have you done for me lately mentality, a perfect example is the 49ers benching their starting QB and highest paid player Kaepernick because his play was stinking the joint up.

the 49ers couldn't care less that it was Hayne's first season playing NFL, despite it being a wonderful story/achievement he literally fumbled his way out of a job.

if Hayne gets the vibe he is a long shot to get another realistic shot at playing in the NFL surely he wouldn't be that stubborn to sit and rot on the 49ers practice squad for another year.

Rumour that Hayne is also not very popular in the 49ers dressing room.
In the last two years we have lost SBW, Mini, BBQ , RTS and Stapleton just to name a few.
I feel we have money in reserve in case Hayne does become available.
But if they are looking at releasing others then Moa is probably on the money with one year left on his contract. Getting rid of Guerra is fanciful.
They may also get rid of a back as there would be at least five players player vying for a couple of wing spots (SKD, Toups, Burgess, Mitchell, Elliot).
If we get Hayne (or even Tedesco as some have hinted) then I can't see a future for Mitchell at the club. Hayne has at least 4 years left in him (Teddy even more) and I doubt Mitchell would hang around that long to get a shot at fullback or even playing on the wing.

I don't agree. Kaepernicks benching is a sign that the coach is a complete moron. Kaepernick has loads of ability and is the best running qb in the game. It's up to the coach and staff to get the best out of their players and they just aren't. Agree that the signing of those Muppet rbs shows how highly they regard hayne.

Don't underestimate the kids loyalty... he is RWB from top to bottom, front to back.

Don't have to worry about Mitchell, he will be our long term fullback down the track. But he is not going to be ready for that role for a couple of years and he understands what is best for him.

agree offensive system is a big problem with Kaep, would love to see him under Chip Kelly at the Eagles who actually knows how to use mobile QB

exactly Mitchell will get the Mini/RTS treatment and start his career on the wing and learn firstly what it takes to be an NRL player before the added pressure of fullback is heaped on him

If we happen to sign a ready made fullback in Hayne or Tedesco (arguably two of the best in the comp) do you think they will sign for two years just to warm up the spot for Mitchell? Do you think Uncle Nick and Robbo will push one of those aside in a year or two to make way for a player who is probably 3 or 4 years away from that standard if he actually gets to that standard which none of us really know if he will? Do you think Mitchell will say that he is happy to wait 3, 4, 5 years to see if that spot becomes available?

We just lost the best fullback in the comp. If the opportunity comes up to sign someone more than capable of filling that void I think the club would rather cut their losses with Mitchell to have a long term guaranteed quality fullback. If Hayne or Tedesco do not come then obviously they will stick with developing Mitchell.

There have been many players who bleed RWB that didn't finish their careers with us.

                      Just my opinion.

You are very entitled to your opinion. However the club does not sign a junior at 14 on a whim and then extend his contract by another 3 years (2019) only to cut their losses without ever seeing the kid play FG.

Hayne for two years is exactly what we need, maybe even three. That lets Mitchell develop properly so we get the best out of him and we get a once in a generation freak in the meantime.

If there's any chance we can get Hayne we should go for it.

Hayne could easily make the transition to 5/8th should the need arise. He has the skillset to do it

Waiting until Jan 5 or 6 doesn't sound ideal.
