    Hopefully something like:

    1. Dugan (have to pay overs - but we'll get him)
    2. Perrett (on the cheap cos he'll have long serving player discount?)
    3. Sugar Kane (strings some seasons together and breaks into city/country)
    4. SKD (plays like a world beater cos his contract is up for renewal)
    5. W Hopoate (on the cheap back from his mormon mission)
    6. Carney (Australian 5/8 and costing us a motza)
    7. Pearce (finally settled down into his 2nd fiddle role)
    8. Kennedy (Other Australian rep)
    9. Friend (QLD sub and finally an 80 min player
    10. Mose Masoe (drops a few kg and becomes a consistent wrecking ball)
    11. Symonds (NSW rep)
    12. Tasi (drops a few kgs and becomes a wide running destroyer)
    13. Cordner (boom rookie after he puts some meat on the bones and gets over injuries)

Bench: some nuffies no one has ever heard of

Actually forgot about BJ - in a stunning effort he becomes a speedy winger who doesn't make poor decisions and holds onto the ball...****s Perrett off to retirement

      This would be my ideal:

      Head Coach: Daniel Anderson
      Assistant Coach: Brian Noble
Defensive Coach: Gillmeister and/or Dean Pay
      Offensive Coach: Lam
      Strength and Conditioning Coach: Cunningham
      High Performance Manager: Fitzgibbon

      Squad of 25 (ideal):

      1. Tomkins (off contract 2013/14)
      2. Linnett
      3. Leilua
      4. SKD
      5. Perrett
      6. Carney
      7. Pearce
      8. Woods/Fifita/McGuire (off contract this year)
      9. Friend
      10. Kennedy
      11. Bolton (off contract 2012)
      12. Aubusson
      13. Symonds
      14. Arona
      15. Masoe
      16. Tasi
      17. Johnson (Warriors) (off contract this year)

      18. Kheirallah
      19. Cordner
      20. Goodwin
      21. Mataka
      22. Carney
      23. Naughton
      24. Lazarus
      25. Cherrington

I've bolded the new signings. I'd keep an eye on Hopoate. If he is looking for a club when he has finished his Mormon thing, then I would be happy to let Perrett go. There is no doubting his talent, and he will be only 21 when he gets back. He should have filled out by then and he should be very cheap.

Edit: Hopoate played Origin. Too much for him now I think. Stick with Pez.

Milne a victim of Raiders salary cap
        By Mute– June 19, 2011
Posted in: Canberra Raiders, David Milne, News

        No longer wanted

David Milne is set to part ways with Canberra after this season, the latest victim of the Raider’s salary-cap squeeze.

The fringe fullback is in his seventh year at Canberra but barring injuries, it appears he will be left stranded on 49 games for the club.

Canberra believes it has sufficient back up for Blues custodian Josh Dugan.

Toyota Cup fullback Nathan Massey has acquitted himself well in three top-grade appearances this year when Dugan has been out injured.

Bulldogs recruit Massey is contracted until the end of next year, as is highly-rated teenager Haydon Hodge, who can play centre or fullback.

Milne joins stalwart forward Josh Miller as players searching for a new home for next season.

Despite being contracted until the end of next year, Travis Waddell has also been given permission to negotiate with other clubs after falling behind Alan Tongue and Glen Buttriss in the hooker pecking order.

Should Waddell find another home, the Raiders are likely to retain Buttriss.

The upgrading of several stars, and the emergence of a number of young players, has forced Canberra to make tough decisions on loyal club servants.

Earlier this year, Canberra re-signed key forwards Bronson Harrison, Tom Learoyd-Lahrs and Joe Picker, as well as boom halfback Sam Williams.

Representative prop David Shillington is expected to follow suit shortly, while emerging hooker Matt McIlwrick inked a new two-year deal this week.

JWH is a good player considering his age. People have no clue. He will only get better from here(has been good this season, getting better with each game).

Why would we recruit Hoppa on big money just to play wing ? Seems like a waste of salary cap.

Dugan the injured bogan can get farked. :P Give me someone like Milne who won't break the bank.

Don't forget, between now and 2013, there will be countless new superstars unearthed as well as current players who make a turn for the amazing.

Best is to approach recruitment year by year and not buy at the top of the market. There will always be more Dugans, Lockes and Hoppas.

What I expect to see, roughly...

                    1.
                    2. Perrett
                    3. Kenny-Dowall
                    4.
                    5.
                    6. Carney
                    7. Pearce
                    8. Kennedy
                    9. Friend
                    10. Hargreaves
                    11. Symonds
                    12. Aubusson
                    13.

                    14.
                    15.
                    16.
                    17.

This is the rough outline for who must be there.

                    - Leilua will either be either wing, centre, or on the bench
                    - Nuuausala, Cherrington, Tasi and Masoe will fight it out for bench spots
                    - Guerra and Cordner will compete for the lock forward position
                    - Mitchell and Dumbrell might get a look-in as bench utilities
                    - if Minichiello leaves, there are plenty of fullbacks hovering around
                    - Linnett, Blair, Justin Carney and a few other centres are all eligible options too

                      he is 20/21...

                      On top of that:

he is the 2nd forward behind Nate myles to make most meters for this season (975, 5th over all in the roosters side, next best forward is FPN with 892)
127 hitups for the season, 2nd behind myles in the forwards, 5th overall at the roosters
3rd highest tackles made at the roosters behind Jake (582 tkls) and Myles (380 tkls)

over the season so far he has only made 6 errors in 13 games so far.

I think some are marking JWH with a brush that is undeserved, or do we expect too much too soon????

I agree muzz... I don't think he is worth the coin he is on but he always rolls up his sleeves and considering his age there is a lot of potential upside..

We won't see his worth now, and yes we probably did pay too much to get him, but like you said, there is ALOT of potential there.
