Myles in itself is not a gargantuan loss.

Guys... he tackles, and he runs hard. There are other players who do this. Just take a look at last round. Nigel Plum - 16 hit ups, 124 metres, 31 tackles. Sam McKendry - 13 hit ups, 128 metres, 25 tackles. Shaun Fensom - 15 hit ups, 135 metres, 44 tackles. Guys like these wouldn't be asking for too much more than 200K, and there are more examples.

What is so disappointing about this loss is not that Myles is a great player, but that we have released him and kept dead wood. That Anasta will be given another year to earn hundreds of thousands doing nothing is a disgrace. Same with Minichiello, if he is kept. For the past few years, our chief metre eaters come from our backs. This is laughable. Any successful team, ever, will have a forward pack who works hard and creates space for backs to score tries, not a forward pack who turn up once in three weeks and are more concerned about putting a shot on than winning a footy game.

The clubs head is on backwards at the moment. Panic time is now, make no mistake about it.

We have lots of good back rowers and now we can fit a decent fullback and some decent wingers under our cap if mini retires. Nate has opened the door for some great reform if our back rowers fire.

Talent only gets us so far though. We need experience, and even though we have some great prospects coming through they are just that - prospects. Cherrington is a day to day prospect at best, Cordner is talented but nowhere near first grade standard, and Goodwin is just the same if not further behind. Then you have guys like JWH, FPN and Conn. JWH doesn't have the workrate required, and at this stage looks to be terribly overrated. FPN doesn't have the workrate either, has barely turned up all year and looks to have returned to some very bad habits. Conn is on the outer, looks to have gone backwards from last year and is another who doesn't bring much of a workrate. The only way I can see us replacing Myles is to buy. Sadly, we have missed the boat big time this year.

That is either attittude or a recurring injury. Blair is more consistent during a game and week to week, offers much more than Nate in attack and brings the right attitude. Would be a great buy.
Blair is consistent with the right attitude???

            No way in hell.

Exactly !! Forget the coin he may or may not be on just have a look at the muppets that still remain and its hard not to weep.
As a parting gift to Nick i hope Nate deposits a massive Henry the 3rd on the farknuckles desk on his way out the door. If not ill always have my sig to remind me of the good times.

Now hopefully a few more follow and we are back on track..

For the record,Smith should see out his 4 year contract so we can see what he is made of..
Im willing to give him a chance!

Smith has to go the distance

                    Essential

Even though I dont support it, this decision took balls. Big cojones

My understanding is that the secret talks he had a few weeks ago p!ssed Uncle Nick off that he told him to go looking for next year.
There was even talk he was willing to let him go before June 30.
If that is the case then I'm over him no matter how good he is. For the money we were paying him, I'd target a decent fullback.

The tigers have got Blair for $500K. I know they are desperate for decent forwards but that is ridiculous.

I am just trying to see my way to the methodology behind the decision so it makes sense that he signed his own death warrant.

if we sign a good fullback do we have to carry Minis contract under the cap?

Blair is a 250k player so they are welcome to him for 500

One thing i have learnt about my beloved club over the last 35 years of supporting them,if they release a good player early, be sure to know they have something planned up their sleeve!
Their is no way Myles would be released without a bigger and better plan coming up,thats just my opinion..

Great, they can have him !
I hear this guy is looking for a club, should we give him a 2nd chance!?

Roosters had two forwards they paid $400K p.a.

One is our most valuable player (and a QLD origin hero) and one is our least valuable player (and has a C next to his name)

Guess who we chose to keep...doh...
