Carney at Half back............I reckon we will be favourites.

Carney at first receiver actually gives us a chance

He can cut-out Anasta and throw it out to SKD

Me too, centre is his best position and I am tipping him for a big game.

I like the team. Winning this game would do so much to lift our spirits at least for a bit. But I won't be confident till we actually win one. God this year has been painstaking.

interested to see how arona goes at lock in particular. whilst im not going to concede that the spoon is ours etc etc, with the injuries we have atm and form we are in, the best we can look for out of this week upsets and turn arounds aside is to see how a few of the younger guys step up. im most looking forward to seeing arona start. like most i have been pretty impressed with the start to his career to date and cant wait to see him have a crack at the jersey myles will vacate next year. imo arona's best chance of cracking our side going forward is to cement himself the lock forward spot. if he doesnt manage to do that i think he is going to have to settle for being a permanent bench player.

he is a similar sort of player to myles at lock but would never command the same sort of money imo and also has some really good ball skills to complement his work rate. Im hoping he turns out to be somewhat of a myles/FPN hybrid in that he develops the workrate of myles with a touch of the ball skills, footwork and hole running that FPN offers us at full tilt.

                Good post Roz,

I have been very impressed with Arona, and hope he carves it up at lock along with Naughton on the wing and Justin Carney in the centres.

I don't know what you guys see in Naughton

Looks at best a solid winger who will never carve up anything except his Christmas turkey

This is one game where I hope Anasta continues his form and does SFA and let's Carney run the whole show.

Actually it would be good if he played out on the wing again.

i agree and have said that he is not a 'carve up' or 'x factor' winger but if he can work on his high ball work in particular, he could prove a handy option to have in the squad going forward ala michael robertson for manly. has the pace, height and footy brains to be more than useful. he will never let the team down and makes good decisions in defence in particular which is something we havent had in a winger for a while

I want a winger that can beat an outside man for once with pace

Haven't had it since Mullins and before that Mattie Sing

that is something i think naughton could offer. he is a real flyer - one of his greatest assets. like i said, if he can work on making himself a safe option under the high ball in defence and also an attacking option for the ball in the air using his height in attack, he will be more than handy. havings said this, i cant really find room in our backline for him longterm so hopefully he becomes one of those excellent depth sort of players. Ive got a backline looking something like this:
                          1. probably need to buy someone in the zillman, gordon, locke mold (not dugan - bad attitude and bad news but we will end up with dugan mark my words)
                          2. Linnett/Blair/Moga
                          3. Leilua
                          4. SKD
                          5. Perrett
                          6. Carney
                          7. Pearce

I knew that we had no hope last week, this week I'm too busy offloading two players with season ending injury injuries from my fantasy team to feel anything.
