Racist yes but also realistic. I think most people would agree that the Polynesian players are made up a little differently to others. The same could be said for some Aboriginal players as well, i.e. Andrew Walker, etc.

Ten years of living in Asia has made me immune to racist criticism whether it is aimed at me or generated by me to others. For example, I am about 6 '2 and 92 kgs yet I called fat everyday by ignorant Chinamen. Don't even get me started about Koreans.

The fact is in any sport around the world teams will always look for talented players who are also the best athletes.

Look at junior footy there are islander kids everywhere, I'd say in 10-15 years they will make up 60-70 percent of the league.

If you take a policy not to pick them you will be left behind.

While there is a stereotype out there, we don't need to propogate it.

There have been many great islander/Polynesian/Aboriginal players who have been successful in top flight rugby league, Too many to group in with those of a lesser work ethinc.
