Jamie Lyon hasn't been the best centre in the game for two years. But I take your point that both he and Hodgo, two tortoises, had been the games best centres for a decade.

Ironically, the games current two best centres might be playing fullback in 2016 - GI and Fergo. Dugan is a better centre, too.

Where did I say speed was the only factor? Even with Jennings I said he was a valuable defender.


I recall you were one of those who argued the same point on speed with me back in 2012. It seems like you have learnt nothing since then. Maybe we should get Perrett and Leilua back in the team and go back to scoring tries off kicks.

Well considering Cordner knocked back our offer and Tobin (who posted it) is usually a guy in the know then it starts to add up doesn't it?

I love how we take these rumours for granted.

In recent times, we have hit preseason with more players than required and we often let 2-3 players go to fit the cap. This keeps players honest in off-season and keeps them motivated to peak.

We do seem to have too many outside backs so it is a possibility that 1-2 may be released but the great unknown is who will be #1. I believe by the start of the season our staff will have a firm point of view. At this stage, it may be too early to make any significant calls. We must TIT and POS.

Jennings is an extremely good finisher but he hasn't even done that very well over the past 2 seasons and it's what he gets paid for... 21 tries in 2 seasons is nothing to write home about.

It's 10 more than the 'best centre in the game' scored in the past 2 seasons.
