What a ridiculous argument. It is like saying an opening bowler doesn't need to be fast because Glenn McGrath took 600 wickets bowling in the 130's.. Different players have different attributes, there is only one Jamie Lyon, he gets away with a lack of speed with guile and strength. 99% of Centres don't have Lyon's skill so need other attributes, more speed being one of them, Jennings is one of those. If Lyon was playing for the Roosters in the 2013 Grand Final, Maloney's grubber with 12 to go hits the ANZ Stadium back fence, thankfully Jennings is a flyer off the mark and he scored and we won.

By the way, I never knew you were Ray Warren, helps explain a few things.

It's actually based on a rumour, not a hypothetical. Look the 2 up in the dictionary.

The season really wasn't that long ago... I feel like I'm the only one who saw him dominate 2015 and thought he was without a doubt our best and most consistent forward. His ability to be a threat on the fringe & give us excellent yardage in tight is so invaluable, there's very few second rowers in the game who can do both to a high standard.

I would happily pay the price of admission at any game at any level just to watch Boyd Cordner go around, the work he gets through on and off the ball is unmatched in our team, the runs he takes when the team is hurting and he's hurting are consistently inspirational, the lines he runs for his ball players take big balls and he does it with 100% conviction every time, he puts his shoulder into every tackle with the force and belief that it is the most important tackle of the game & he turns up no matter the opposition, no matter the scoreline and no matter the occasion.

Cordner underlies everything our team stands for, he's a standard setter and a huge part of our culture. It's naive to think he can be replaced by someone with a similar skill level when he offers so much more than that on the field.

There's plenty of equally skilled props to JWH on less money but none are worth what he is for a very good reason.
If you put your homo-erotic fantasies aside for one moment, you will see no one bagged Cordner. Everyone agree's he is a fantastic player, I was one of the few who stood up for him when he was being bagged out in 2014. The point which you couldn't grasp was that people don't think we should be breaking the bank for a backrower, regardless of who it is unless it is SBW circa 2013 who can change a game on his own. For the right price, I hope he stays, even a bit more, not though if it means letting an origin centre go and replacing him with a reserve grade standard player in Copley. You have to understand the context of people's arguments for not paying significant overs..

Thanks mate, I don't doubt Cordner wants to stay but i hope he doesn't expect the silly money a basket case side like Newcastle is prepared to pay.

Having said that, I will miss him - whether he leaves now or after this season.
After 2016 I would let Jennings go too, not this year though and for a bog average player like Copley. I think in Manu and Taylor we have a couple potential talents in the Centre's but they won't be ready this year. I agree Jennings can't pass though, I doubt he ever needed to when he played juniors. He also looks like he has been carrying a few extra kilos since 2013. One thing i mentioned last year and I will say it again, since 2013, he has not received anywhere near as much early ball. We regularly would go to him on the second or third tackle in his first year here but that changed from 2014 and to his and our detriment.

Ironically, the games current two best centres might be playing fullback in 2016 - GI and Fergo. Dugan is a better centre, too.
Garbage! Lyon is still by far the best in the game.

I have a Boyd cordner magnet on my fridge. Only chooks player I have. For that reason alone, we must retain him. But seriously he will be our next captain. He's not going anywhere.

He'll be waiting a long time to be our next captain given the age of our current co-captains!

Captain?? The bloke speaks like Rocky Balboa and is about as sharp as a spoon, his leadership is best expressed by example.

I have a feeling Pearce won't be captain for as long as he could be.

Leading by example is exactly what your captain should do. And I don't think he speaks as poorly as you infer.

We had Jennings and Fergo in the centres and they starved. It's criminal.
