What do you expect Canavan to say? Yeah he is out of here as soon as we can find a club willing to fork out for this overpaid has been. Remember when he gave the same denials about Shannon Hegarty leaving for Souths, only for Hegarty to sign with them the next day.
Nothing wrong with some off season bullshit , better than a DCE type saga during the comp.
On Jennings, common sense would see no one surprised if his contract wasn't renewed, but I'm not buying this crap about pushing him out a season early just to upgrade Cordner. Either he's staying, or we're looking to sign a player a tad more accomplished than Copely. IMO
I cant read anywhere in that article anything that convinces me he is staying. If it suits the Chooks long term goals in regards to Cap and bringing big names in in 2017, then if they can i think he will be moved.
The whole source of this so-called move of Jennings to Parra is right here on the Chookpen. Right down to the hypothesis / rumour / speculation (hope that covers it R6) that he's being moved on to find more money for Cordner. But it's the off season so got to find something to write about.
It is very likely to happen. Still awaiting a few pieces to be put in place. At face value no doubt about it Jenko is better, but at cost. Roosters see Copley with plenty of upside & at value. These are decisions, appraisals our recruitment team make, to date most have been right, you can never guarantee how it plays out. That said, Copley was real good in 14. Here's hoping he can attain that form again!
I see Michael Jennings staying this season, but the season after that i'm not convinced we're going to keep him. He is 27-28, so this next deal he is looking for im sure from his perspective would want to be his biggest and last time to cash in.
Fits the bill with Parramatta who are looking for experienced players from their current recruit drives the last 2 years.
I feel like Easts are either feeling the pinch of our success in 2013 salary cap wise or we're trying to create room for a push for another marque player, similar to how 2011-12 we started a process of clearing cap space think Nate Myles, Braith Anasta, Todd Carney, Jason Ryles etc etc.
