I thought the 9s was meant to be a very profitable sideshow which is why the nrl is constantly being bagged for having outsourced it to a private company rather than organising it and keeping the profit. If it is to be cancelled due to dick Smith I'd imagine it'll return in another format. Seemed bizarre that the nrl would allow a non-officiated organisation to use all the NRL trademarked clubs and names and players (occasionally to the detriment of the nrl season with injuries) and not retain the majority profit.

The NRL didn't outsource it to Dick Smith? They just got naming rights for it and in exchange would have had to put up the prize money and then some.

It's not going to be canceled at all, they've already said it'll be going ahead. If need be they'll get a new sponsor, plenty of corporations would be happy to do it.

nah Bigchook is right. It has been outsourced to a NZ promotional company.. It is not run by the NRL at all.

If you really want a chance of winning this. You would pick your fastest players at the club for this as this is what its really designed for Speed, similar to the rugby 7s and then have your nest fastest forwards. Depends on what Robo wants to do, If he wants to rest players etc. But I would be having Nikorima , Taylor, Mitchell, Elliot there
