Fair enough, I thought there could have been other reasons other than the money aspect but still 700k @ a basket case of a club or take less and be in a championship contending team not too much of a choice in my opinion considering Hayne had said in the past a number of the 3rd parties have fallen through and is owed money. Being promised 700k and getting it with Parramatta is two different things.

I still can't work out if this is good for us or not.
Copley is a decent player but I've been watching some Jenko highlights and he's just such an electric player and we're going to miss his match winning ability. I know he can have quiet games but he's always been quality over quantity and he's worth it IMO.
Copley does free up cash though and is potentially an Origin player so it may work out. If it were up to me I would have kept Jennings for this year, let him go at the end of it and given the spot to Manu/Mitchell/Taylor/Elliot. Would have freed up even more money and they all have big potential.

The reaction to Copley's signing on this forum speaks volumes in terms of our club expectations and past successes.
Most other club's fan would have be singing from the rafters if they signed him. Imagine the forums for clubs like Canberra, Parra or Tigers??
He would be the Messiah to them..here its more like 'Meehhh'.
That can only be a good thing in my view.Exonerate the West Memphis Three - www.wm3.org

On current form ANYBODY is a downgrade from Jennings. TBH Jenko will always have my love and respect... he won us a premiership and has done so much for NSW. Respect where due.
But faaaark... a kid with the brains to get into law AND the brains/physique to be a starting NRL player who Hodges reckons should replace him in Origin?!? I smell danger, and don't wanna be ANY of the guys who farked him over inside the Brisbane camp.
IMO he could just be the smart, calm, strategic head we've been missing in our backline since losing Mini. I hope

I will always love Jennings too, even before he came here he was probably my favourite opposition player to watch. When he signed with us I was over the moon. He would always tear us apart too, hope that trend doesn't continue.

NSW have never developed QLD players for the circus, not ever.
Clubs like us have, but for a very good reason.
