This is the crux of it , we have a good side and yet we are more than willing to sacrifice "home grown" for ring ins , whether they are proven or based on speculative potential.

How many unsuccessful " speculative potential " players litter the landscape ?

Oh for the return to "one Club players" where loyalty is rewarded and mercanaries are just that.

In 2013 SBW and Jennings were pretty good ring ins.

When you have a change to grab a player like Hayne you take it.

It is a very good question.

For mine, Guerra for sure. I don't think I would get rid of Pearce yet because I don't personally like the idea of both halves being very inexperienced (no matter who is the fullback) so on that basis I would keep Pearce and offload Moa and if that is still not enough then look at SKD or Tupou.

It would have to be all three - SKD, Moa and Toups.

Those would be my three. I think we can cover for each of them. But it also depends how much of the contract we would have to pay.

Plus cap increases and TPAs that should be enough. They'd be on 800k combined surely.

Otherwise, thinking about it again I'd be happy releasing all of Moa, Guerra, Toops and SKD tbh. As Mitchell would be well and truly ready for a first grade wing spot in 2017.

                      2017:

                      1. Hayne
                      2. Mitchell
                      3. Ferguson
                      4. Copley
                      5. Burgess
                      6. Hastings
                      7. Pearce
                      8. JWH
                      9. Friend
                      10. Napa
                      11. Cordner
                      12. SBW
                      13. SST

                      14. Evans
                      15. Liu
                      16. Aubusson
                      17. Nikorima

If SKD court case goes well, can't we just throw Guerra into that list of 3 instead of SKD?

Yep, that's all it would take. They'd be on $800k combined that with TPA's and whatnot would get Hayne easy.

Also the more players you release the more you have to replace, so by letting go of only those two you only need to find one more cheap player to replace them with.

                            We can.

I expect that if it goes to hearing he will be found guilty of something. But it will be so minor no conviction will be recorded.

So guilty of being accused of the wrong crime in the current political & social climate. So much so that 'something' must be put against his name to make it look like the authorities have taken it seriously, even if there isn't the evidence for a conviction.

                                But Hayne wouldn't be.

I think that if he gives up on NFL he will be a Rooster.

But where does the $1m plus come from? We would have to offload a couple of our top players at least.

I would go for Pearce and Guerra.

                                You?

SBW not currently registered with the NRL. Whatever we are paying him now is none of the NRL's business.
